After months of doing long easy paced runs I decided to increase the speed today. 20 miles in 1hr58m40 was the result. Reasonably comfy.

Found a lost dog along a footpath with no collar on during today's run. Had no phone on me to call for help, so I jogged with it. Went over stiles & through gates for a mile towards the nearest village. Amazingly the first lady I saw was the owner. Glad it got home safely.

Ran my fastest half marathon since 2014 with a win at Gosport in 69:50.Last won Gosport half marathon back in 2008 so good to do it again.

Put in a gutsy performance at the final Gosport 5k. Lost the lead before 4k. Stayed in touch. Came back to win in a sprint finish! Three speed sessions paid off. 200th road race win. Phew!

Pleased to make it 8 wins out of 8 at my local race @Chichesterhalf . 75m28 was fast enough to win by 7m19sec. Too wet & breezy on the off road sections to get near my course record 71m52. Looking forward to the start of xc season.

99.9% of people are friendly and encouraging at parkrun. But today one women was aggressive towards me and shouted "it's not a bloody race" after I overtook her. She had ignored the marshalls request to move to the right & I had slowed to a jog & waited to get past her safely.

Running is a tough sport. Eleven weeks ago I cruised a half marathon in 69:50, today it was hard work to run 10k in 33:55. Ilness & injuries really set you back. Just got to be happy with gradual improvements each week.

Went for the course record that I set 7 years ago at the @seafordstriders Mince Pie 10 miles. Tough multi-terrain course, 600ft uphill. Obliterated it by 1m20s. 55m14. Winning margin 7m20s. Reckon it went well. 👍

Finally had the opportunity to race the @swrr_exeter Drogo 10 miles. Hills & mud galore along the river & back up to the castle. Got a good lead over Sam Hopton to claim the win. The final hill was a lung buster!

Just won the Ferndown10k. The entire field apart from me got sent the wrong way on a shorter route. Caught everyone up. Then got sent wrong way myself at finish. Won without crossing finish line. Crazy race!

28 years ago today I had a fun afternoon at Bishop Luffa school sports day. Won the 800m/1500m & the 4x100m with a gutsy final leg from @PovanicPovall , who held off the schools fastest sprinter. Captained my house to win in every age group, which had never been done before.

25 years ago today, I won the Sussex Schools senior boys 1500m title in Brighton. My main rival was @SussexAA U20 champion Paul Stacey. I hung on behind him until 200 metres to go and then kicked and he had no response. The race went like a dream.

First Sunday run for 4 weeks after different injuries stopped me. Started back running on Tuesday with 3 miles in 25m41. Wednesday 3 miles in 23m41. Thursday 5 miles in 36m36. Friday 6 miles in 40m05. Saturday 5k 17m18. Today a massive improvement with 10 miles in 62m16.

Gave 30m01 10km runner David Long a good race around the Goodwood half marathon. We both ran over distance (13.3 miles) due to lapped runners. 3000 runners going around a 2.3 mile circuit. Got a season best in 2nd 71m58. Winner 71m28.
