Rutgers has beaten Indiana in basketball 5 straight times and won there in football last year. Rutgers has also beaten Purdue in hoops 4 of the last 5 times and has never lost to it in football. Yet those schools are the most vocal against RU being in the B1G. Why is that?

With a 44-15 overall record & a second place finish in Big Ten play, Rutgers did not make the NCAA Tournament field of 64 teams. They were projected in by every major publication. Their RPI of No. 42 and what was considered a down season in the Big Ten ultimately did them in.

Sources: Rutgers has interest and is exploring the possibility of playing in the Gator Bowl. They have the highest-ranking APR of the available 5-7 teams (979), which *should* give them chance to play. (Illinois has an APR of 970). Rutgers also beat Illinois head-to-head.
