The HyperSDK not only goes fast (100k+ TPS). It does this at a sustained low cost (<$0.0005 per tx), with abstractions to cut down development time (500-1000 lines of code). Allowing teams to focus on their applications instead of optimizing the infra beneath. How? 🧵👇

Why are we building Firewood? Merkleized blockchain state has a fundamental problem, Constant TPS -> State Growth -> More RAM/Disk used per tx -> Lower TPS Since RAM/Disk are capped you will run into a brick wall. You can increase the TPS now, but the wall will come sooner. 🧵

I'm excited thinking about how some of the marquee Avalanche subnets are aligning themselves to bring new users into other ecosystems, especially Ethereum. Some examples: -Gunzilla users crossing over with games, could be on IMX... -Movement bringing a MOVE L1 with a modular

Every blockchain makes a set of tradeoffs that effect scalability, security and decentralization. ZK allows all these to have boundless execution, allowing developers to make expressive applications that still inherit the composability and security of the networks below.

Think there is consensus on this in the space. However what constitutes as your own chain? If you are still reliant on other chains for security/liveness is it your own chain? Sovereign L1s scale 🔺

Validators have a fixed bandwidth of resources. To have a high performance chain it is important that validators do not spend resources on non-fee paying txs. HyperSDK Vryx: Enables validators to recieve txs in parallel while not wasting resources on txs that do not pay fees.

However maintaining upstream code can become a burden. That is why the HyperSDK was designed in a way where the backend can be changed while remaining compatible with VMs built on top. Reducing long term maintenance for teams through stable interfaces.

@ETazou > PS: Afaik, the only use case ZK-VMs haven't reached is, ironically, privacy. I have no idea why btw Explanation is easy imo: privacy use cases require client-side proving, currently client-side provers are just not fast enough for anything beyond merkle branches.

Quick recap, how does AWM work? AWM allows the validator set of a subnet to sign and verify messages from other subnets. A subnet can verify if the message is valid by looking at the registry of subnet information on the P-Chain. On average this should take <6 seconds

You can fix this in the short term by putting the state in RAM, but eventually you will either price out validators or need to put it on disk which will get throttled. CPU or Network are not throttled so increasing these will not help.
