I've always been fascinated by the tricky Welsh word for a pharmacy (Fferyllfa). I knew that -fa ending meant 'place of' But what did 'Fferyll' mean? Turns out it's a loanword of the Latin poet Virgil, whose works were said to have 'magical properties'. I bloody love Welsh!

As an observer I've seen a wonderful transformation in Scotland. In 2007, Scotland was fed up with London calling most of the shots. She wanted more of a say. She looked to the only party standing up for Scotland - the SNP. Look at them now. Wales, let's follow that lead.

2016-17 Welsh budget: £15.2bn. Scottish budget: £30.4bn. 2022-23 Scottish budget: £59.7bn. Welsh budget: £21.6bn. In 5 years, the Scottish budget has nearly doubled. Meanwhile the Welsh budget has only gone up 28%. One government is run by the SNP. The other by Labour.

The @WelshConserv claim that 32 more MSs would cost £2.5m a year. Yet the *unelected* House of Lords has 786 members. Each entitled to a daily allowance of £323. 786 x 323 = £253,878. Per day. So it would take just 🔟 days to spend the same amount. Thoughts @AndrewRTDavies ?

It seems Welsh independence is in a catch 22 position. 35% people support it but only 19% support the major pro-indy party @Plaid_Cymru . Our independence will only arrive once we elect a pro- #indywales government to issue a referendum. If you support it, vote for it!

Deltapoll polled 1,567 UK adults online between 13th - 17th April 2023. @Plaid_Cymru recieved 2%. That might not sound much, but in 2019 the got just 0.5%. The Welsh breakdown is quite amazing: LAB - 33% PC - 28% CON - 15% GRN - 8% REF - 8% LDM - 5% That's BIG for Plaid!
