Hey
#buildinpublic
founders 👋
Reply with your landing page.
I'm going to redesign my favorite ones (with full functionality) in Framer for completely free.

I honestly could never believe that a chrome extension that I made in just 30 days could do this.
This proves anything is possible with hard work!
#buildinpublic
My last tweet was 112 days ago.
I felt I had nothing of value to share to the amazing
#buildinpublic
community.
I didn't want to tweet the same ideas over and over again...
So, I took a break.
I worked on my startups/projects in private.
Now, I'm back to share everything
It's called the
#buildinpublic
community...
But building is the easy part.
Distribution and marketing is much harder in the long run.
Maybe we can create a
#marketinpublic
community too? 😅
In 2023, you should ALWAYS validate your product before you build your SaaS.
For we simply set up a landing page with a waitlist and a stripe link.
The results?
- 37 users on waitlist
- 4 teams onboarded (10 paying users in total)
#buildinpublic
Why you need to join the
#buildinpublic
community...
-Share your startup and get honest feedback
-Market from day 1
-Get help from like-minded people
What else?
How many SaaS products are you building?
Personally, I'm building two:
-TagU (), a collaboration tool for dev teams.
-Mailr AI (), an AI email writer.
What about you? 🤔
#buildinpublic
I need some help here 🙋
How do you integrate authentication in your SaaS?
Is there a certain tool that you would recommend to get this done fast and effectively?
Or do you just hard code it all?🤔
#buildinpublic
First dollars of revenue for TagU 🎉
Excited to start this new journey off on a good step!
Going to be working very closely with these new early subscribers to make TagU the best it can be!
#buildinpublic
I’ve been stuck at around 65 followers for a week.
But i’m not mad.
Why?
Because real relationships are more important than a number.
When I see the same people engage with my posts EVERY time, I know I am building real connections.
And that’s why I love Twitter ❤️
I want to promote an amazing
#buildinpublic
founder today.
Tell me about your SaaS and yourself as a founder ✍️
I will be picking one of you to highlight as "Founder of the Week" in the ASYNC Newsletter releasing tomorrow.
(Combined total of 300+ subs across all newsletters)
Evolution of indie hackers:
Level 1: Launching with a full fledged product
Level 10: Launching with just an MVP
Level 100: Launching with just a landing page for validation
Level 1000: Just tweeting out a stripe link 🤯
Unpopular opinion:
Having competitors is a good thing.
It proves there is demand for your product and people are willing to pay for your solution.
#buildinpublic
There’s a gold-mine sitting in front of SaaS founders, and everyone seems to walk over it.
What is it?
Chrome extensions.
Benefits of building a chrome extension?
-Organic traffic
-You keep 100% of your revenue
-Untapped market
-Insane room for scaling & growth
First

Built in Framer using the power of AI, templates, and a little bit of design magic 🧙
Before => After
Twitter is great for growing your personal brand.
But it’s always better to diversify.
LinkedIn, Youtube, Blogs, etc.
I’m going to try and grow on some more platforms 👀
Tip for new SaaS founders:
Use the tools available to you.
You don’t need to hard-code your entire auth system. Use
@supabase
.
You don’t need to hard-code your entire landing page. Use
@webflow
.
There are so many amazing tools available!
Make use of them!
#buildinpublic
Calling the
#buildinpublic
community!
This week, we are building every single part of our landing page with you!
So today’s question...
Does "Dark" or "Light" mode look more aesthetically pleasing?
Terms to help new SaaS founders navigate Twitter:
MRR: Monthly Recurring Revenue
MVP: Minimum Viable Product
B2B: Business to Business
B2C: Business to Consumer
BIP: Build in Public
FRP: Follow
@ItsRohanPhilip
Okay, maybe that last one isn’t an official term😅
Hey Indie Hackers 👋
How do you balance your
#buildinpublic
startups with work/school going on at the same time?
With school starting back up for me, it's hard to keep up at the same pace but I still try show up everyday 💪
My first viral tweet! 🥳
It wasn’t a complex thread, or lengthy article.
It was literally JUST A QUESTION.
You never know what the algorithm will love.
Keep tweeting, and eventually you’ll hit gold!
I've seen hundreds, if not thousands of SaaS landing pages in the past few months.
The one flaw I see in almost all of them?
Lack of simplicity.
Hundreds of images and animations is not what makes customers convert.
Simple and effective messaging does.
#buildinpublic
Woke up, and hit 100 followers! 🥳
Along this journey, I've made so many amazing connections, that push me to become better each day.
I've reached this milestone from sharing everything. The ups, the downs, and everything in between.
The best part?
I did it in only 50 days!
My journey as a 16 year old entrepreneur:
1st company: sold customized shopify stores to e-commerce brands (made $1,000+ MRR before stopping due to high maintenance)
2nd company: started my first SaaS
@MailrOfficial
(1,500+ users but not enough revenue due to high saturation in
I know a lot of the
#buildinpublic
community stays away from investments and VC funding...
But is there ever a point you would consider it?
High potential valuation?
High MRR with huge potential for growth?
Or will you prefer to always stay bootstrapped? 🤔
Finally reached the big 500! 🥳
Joined Twitter around 3 months ago...
Since then I've:
-Made 2 SaaS products
-Reached 1,000 users on one
-Launching the other one soon (37 on waitlist)
And I've been apart of
#buildinpublic
all the way though!🥳
The perfect startup idea is in the intersection of:
-A problem worth solving
And
-An industry you have experience in
If your idea has both of these items, you are 50% closer to success.
Hit my first semi-viral tweet yesterday!
What did I learn?
Perfection does not matter on Twitter.
Sometimes I spend 10 minutes on a single sentence writing a tweet.
But for this one....
I sent it out in less than 15 seconds.
It even has a TYPO right in the middle of it 😅
My last tweet about redesigning other
#buildinpublic
landing pages went viral.
Unfortunately, I don't have the time to redesign EVERYONE's site, but I will try to roast as many of them as possible.
Reply with your landing page 👇
I'll DM you with a free landing page roast🔥
Struggling to come up with a SaaS idea?
Look for problems, not solutions.
I know it sounds crazy, but hear me out.
Anytime you run into problems digitally, write them down in a journal.
Only once you find a problem worth solving, then you try and create the solution.
New demo video for 😎
Trying to keep it short and sweet while still giving a clear picture about the product.
What do you think about it? 🤔
#buildinpublic
SaaS founders👋
Do you put your project on directories and do you find it helpful?
How much traffic does it bring and how long does it take to set everything up?
#buildinpublic
2 weeks ago, I got an offer to sell
@MailrOfficial
for $5,000.
I declined it...
I still see more potential for Mailr at this point.
$5,000 was too little.
Did I make the right decision?
A marketing channel I overlooked in every startup I created...
SEO.
It’s a long waiting game so I never took the time to try it out.
But it truly is one of the best ways to get consistent traffic to your landing page.
Now I make sure to prioritize it.
#buildinpublic
7 ways to get traction for your SaaS launch:
-Tweets
-Write blogs
-Reddit posts
-Email your waitlist
-Product Hunt launch
-Talk with your network
-Post on SaaS directories
What else? 🤔
My Twitter follower progression:
0 - 100: 50 days
100 - 200: 30 days
200 - 300: 15 days
300 - 400: 3 days
The
#1
lesson I've learned is to stop TRYING to go viral.
Sounds a bit crazy, but hear me out.
Don't make tweets just to "please" the algorithm.
Be yourself, be organic.
2 days ago, I made a post about hitting 30 followers.
Now, I have over 50 friends following my journey! 🥹
I'm thankful for each and everyone of you, and I can't wait to grow together.
If you’re new here, I post about:
-SaaS
-AI
-Building a Personal Brand
-Building in Public
Founders 👋
I challenge you to spend this weekend ONLY marketing...
NOT developing.
I know it is easy to get caught up adding new features, and fixing bugs, but marketing is so much more worth it in the long run.
Will you accept?
#buildinpublic
@pwang_szn
That's true, but think about the experienced IOS Devs with years of experience. With GPT, they will be able to supercharge their development, and will still be levels above everyone else.
Actually CRAZY! 😮
Yesterday I started at 230 followers...
Grew to 300 by the evening...
Woke up to 350+ today😳
The result of your actions may take a while to reveal themselves, but that's why habits >>> goals.
Consistency is the key to reach ANY goal in life...
A
#buildinpublic
startup doesn't have to be financially risky.
For my SaaS (TagU), pre-sales have funded our entire development process.
• Domain
• Webflow
• Supabase
• Vercel
Every paid tool we use, has been covered by pre-sales.
Not a single dollar paid out of pocket.
Underrated SaaS tip:
Make a discord community for your SaaS product.
This way, you can get a group of enthusiastic users in one place.
You can easily ask for feedback, advice, and it helps a lot with promotions/launches.
#buildinpublic
I took a break from Twitter the last few days as I was caught up in school and projects.
Sometimes breaks are needed to operate to your max when you work.
How often do you take a break as a
#buildinpublic
founder? 🤔
Is it worth it for you?
The landing page has undergone a redesign 👀
Our top priorities for the redesign were:
-Clearly explain the goal
-Include more visuals
-Be less "text-heavy"
-Increase conversion rate
Take a look, and tell me your thoughts!

Now, it's time to build the actual product!
In a MVP do you prioritize speed or features?
#buildinpublic
Creating multiple SaaS products?
Try creating them all in the same niche.
This way, you will have an ecosystem of products.
Even if one fails, you have other products your previous customers can transfer to.
The
#1
mistake I see in landing pages, are that they are too text-heavy.
People usually skim through landing pages.
Big, bold headlines and concise words will boost conversion rates by far.
Most important metric for a SaaS:
Active users.
If people actively use your product, you know you are making a tangible difference in their lives/workflow.
It's also one of the best feelings as founder...
You are creating a solution that people need.
Just started writing blogs for !
Not the best writer, but let me know what you think of the first one...
Do you write blogs for your SaaS?
#buildinpublic
Underrated marketing channels to try out:
• Reddit
• Blog posts
• Affiliate Marketing
• Influencer Marketing
Sometimes stepping aside from the common marketing strategies could be amazing.🤷
Do you have any other suggestions?
#buildinpublic
Working hard with the
@TagUOfficial
team to launch our FINAL update before launch.
-Email notifications on tags
-Collaboration through MULTIPLE teams
-Real-time viewing of tags on a webpage
-Expanding free plan
-And more!
#buildinpublic
Always keep momentum in your SaaS.
Never stay static.
Let’s say you just launched…
Try to have a new feature the week after.
Then another feature a week after that.
Even if it’s just a small change, evolve and create.
The momentum will keep on building.

As a founder, finding the perfect pricing strategy can be hard.
At TagU, we are going to launch a LIFETIME EARLY ACCESS deal for all early adopters.
What is your pricing strategy?

January 2024 Recap📅
-Came back to Twitter after a 4 month break
-Roasted countless
#buildinpublic
founders' landing pages
-Worked with the
@TagUOfficial
team to prepare for BIG public launch (coming soon 👀)
-Went from 520 to 720 followers (+200 🔥)
This is just the start!
June is officially over!
Did you accomplish your goals this month?
My goals:
-Reach 350 followers ✅(ended with 436!) 💪
-Officially launch my SaaS (TagU) and reach 10 paying users ❌
We didn't officially launch yet, but we did onboard 4 teams with 10 paying users in total.
Hey

founders 👋

DATA DRIVES DECISIONS!
Calling the designers in the
#buildinpublic
community for some help 🙋
I'm finishing the pricing section for the brand-new TagU landing page, but ran into a problem.
How can I allow the users to pick the # of members in their team?
Pop-up?
A drop-down?
Something else?
What's holding you back from going all in to your SaaS?
-Time?
-Money?
-Skills?
Once you can realize your weak-point, you can build a plan around it to achieve success...

🤯Had an absolutely outstanding talk with

He broke down how I could improve my SaaS, what I had to focus on, and his experience in the industry.
He guided me in a completely new direction and showed me how SaaS companies really work.

Did you accomplish them?

Launch TagU + get at least 1 paying user (ended up onboarding 3 teams with a total of 8 people!)✅
The
#1
pricing strategy for new SaaS companies.
Lifetime subscription deal when starting out for validation.
