The real question is why should it cost a whopping £900 to fix a dent as a result of something like a bicycle falling onto your car? If someone wants to store such costly and fragile belonging in public spaces, shouldn't it be done at the owner's risk?

Two stats which leap out at me: - A third of car trips are shorter than 2km. - Around six in ten car driver trips are made alone, without any passengers. Just what are we doing with our lives? And why isn't enough being done to change this behaviour?

It makes be laugh that so many people are opposing experimental traffic orders due to little or no public consultation. Were all of today's residents consulted on whether they'd like their streets dominated by drivers using it as a through-road? No. They weren't.

Good news! We’re getting a Bikehangar on our street! Still perplexed that ⁦ @haringeycouncil ⁩ needs to post a letter to all the residents appealing for comments on this. I don’t remember being asked if I want parked/idling cars outside my house.

Be under no illusion which vehicles do the most damage to our roads. Perhaps a road maintenance fund would be a good idea (amounts to be paid staggered by vehicle weight, obviously). This can’t go on.
