SF committed a stunt today. FM elect Oโ€™Neill was invited as the partyโ€™s Northern Ireland and therefore UK leader and refused. Deputy McDonald was not invited because she is not associated with NI. Clearly they purposely caused drama when none was needed.

There never was a county Derry. There was County Coleraine which became County Londonderry. The City was called Derry legally and officially until the 17th century when the London prefix was added to honour the London Guilds who helped build the modern city.

Just to be clear. The PUL community has no issue with Irish as a language. Itโ€™s the politicisation by Republican paramilitaries like the IRA & INLA and their political parties that is the issue and root of opposition.
