1. You feel disconnected from everything
You don’t feel like yourself anymore.
You don’t feel engaged by anything
And are constantly struggling with an overwhelming sense of helplessness and inability to take back control of your lives.
2. You used to be motivated
A lazy person doesn’t ever feel like putting in the work effort.
But if you used to be self-motivated person
And have only recently become exhausted and unmotivated
then it’s more likely that you’re suffering from burnout and not laziness.
Fix your lifestyle:
- Sleep 7-8hrs/day
- Drink 3-4l water/day
- Walk 8-10k steps every day
- Get 30-40min Sunlight/day
- Lift heavy weights 4-5X a week
- Walk barefoot on the ground more
- No alcohol, drugs, and cigarettes
- More protein. Less sugar and processed food
3. You used to be passionate
Burnout can make it hard for you to do the things you once loved or felt passionate about.
You might even come to hate or resent it
Because of how much you overworked yourself and pushed yourself to the brink because of it.
4. You’ve become moody and irritable
If you start to have trouble controlling your emotions
Especially when it never used to be a problem for you
Burnout might be the reason why.
5. You neglect self-care
One of the most distressing warning signs is that someone may be emotionally and physically burnt out if you start neglecting your self-care and social withdrawal from others
Elon Musk once said,
"Don't confuse schooling with education. I didn't go to Harvard but people that work for me did."
Real education begins once you are out in the real world.
6. These changes happened gradually
Burnout is something that is developed in stages.
Studies show that there are five major stages of burnout each with increasing degrees of severity:
The honeymoon phase
The onset of stress
Chronic stress
Burnout
Habitual burnout
Groom Yourself
Become the best version of yourself:
- Eat healthy
- Hit the gym
- Get more sun
- Style your hair
- Learn new skills
- Make more money
- Do the things that scare you
Find out your why
You gotta ask yourself, "Why do you even want to stop being shy and awkward?"
"To impress others?", "To make your circle bigger?" or something else?
Jotting down the reasons will incentivize you to actually start working upon it.
Don't just aim blindly.
The earlier you spot the signs of burnout, the easier it will be for you to get help and recover from it.
That’s why it’s so important to raise awareness about burnout instead of simply dismissing it as “laziness” like most people tend to do.
