If anything, this TLOU episode just proves that if you understand the core of the source material you're adapting, you can deviate from it as much as you want.
Accusing episode 3 of TLOU of being boring, lazy or woke means you truly don’t understand what this story is about. Yeah, the action is fun and the infected are cool, but what matters most is the characters and their struggles. Without that, it wouldn’t be TLOU.
I'm gonna need everyone who doubted Bella Ramsey before seeing the show to step up now. THIS is why you trust casting directors to do their job instead of listening to people on social media.
“I was supposed to take her to the Fireflies and walk away. You go halfway across the country with someone... She needed her immunity to mean something.” 🌿

Whoever plays Abby in TLOU HBO, I really hope they get to have a better experience at sharing this character than Laura Bailey did because what people put her through for playing Abby was insane.
BREAKING: Video game player who knows the story of The Last of Us like the palm of their hand breaks down crying even though they've watched it a million times.
We spend half of The Last of Us 2 learning why getting your revenge does not magically fix your problems by seeing how Abby’s life was turned upside down because of it. I don’t know why people wanted Ellie to do the same.
One thing that is translating incredibly well from game to TV is how much higher the stakes are when you face infected. During the game you kind of become desensitized after a while, while here they struggle against two clickers. It was terrifying.

TLOU is a weekly release because they have to give you six days to process the episode you just watched. It wouldn’t work as a binge because you just wouldn’t make it.
Despite this huge change, the story that was told with Bill and Frank was so beautiful that I don’t even feel like it’s fair to bring any comparisons with the game. What’s in the game will always be there, so I’m glad they chose to tell us this instead. Masterful.
I don't trust people that say episodes like Left Behind don't move the plot forward/are skippable when they literally establish so many of the intricacies of the MAIN character of the story. If you care about action and not about grounding the characters, TLOU is not for you.
I don’t have time these days to work on anything new, so today I’d like to remember one of my best moments in the TLOU fandom: Ellie turning into a guitar 😭

V. Bill's Town: “There's a town a few miles north of here. There's a fella there that owes me some favors. Good chance he could get us a car.”

"How can you like TLOU2 and sympathise with Abby after what she did?!" Well, it's self-explanatory. You just have to pay attention and play with an open mind. Just because we met Joel and Ellie while on the good side, doesn't mean their stories and Abby's are radically different.
“I walk beside the still waters and they restore my soul, but I can't walk on the path of the right because I'm wrong”.
And here you have both of them together!

XI. Epilogue: “I don’t think I can ever forgive you for that. But I would like to try.”
And that’s a wrap! Thank you all so much for coming along with me on this long but very fulfilling project. It’s been so fun!
Endure and survive!

Before TLOU2's anniversary is over, I'd like to do a throwback of this piece from last year. I guess I *really* love the contrast between blue and orange 🌒☀️
I was forever sold on TLOU2 when my heart was bursting as Abby said "you're my people" to Lev and I felt a genuine connection after spending like 15 hours of gameplay disliking her.
The first anniversary of TLOU2 is approaching and I can’t wait to start working on something special for it when I have the time. In the mean time, here’s another uncropped repost just for the sake of it! 🔥
The Last of Us series on HBO will lift dialogue from the original game, but will see some episodes “deviate greatly” from the events we’ve played previously.
