This WFoV imager is the one that captured the images released so far -- on the Moon and 4.2 minutes before touchdown! To date, ILOA has received 9 high-resolution and 105 thumbnail images from the ILO-X imagers

@Bubbinski Great question! We aren't sure of that yet, we hope to identify which craters we've imaged... and get some good science data out of it. Our astronomy mission goal was to image the Milky Way Galaxy stars of course - we'll see what we can do.

The bracket mounting our ILO-X narrow field-of-field imager (named Ka 'Imi --> the Search) to the @Int_Machines lander was printed with ʻŌlelo Hawaiʻi the Hawaiian Language. Those words are now on the Moon!

@Rissajohns Our narrow field-of-view imager (dubbed Ka 'Imi - The Search) has a baffle for straylight mitigation – from Sun and lunar surface post landing. The image we shared here is from our wide FOV imager. Ice would be great to see / confirm!

ILOA Hawai'i signed an MoU yesterday with National Astronomical Observatories of China for a lunar researcher to further process data from the Chang'E-3 LUT mission. CE-3 reached 10 years on the Moon this December!

@deltaIV9250 @Alex_Hoganson Yes! Apollo 16 astronaut John Young (who was a founding member of our nonprofit organization) did operate the first telescope on the Moon. That telescope was built by George Carruthers. In the meantime, China has also landed a Lunar Ultraviolet Telescope aboard Chang'E-3
