Reading up on the negative consequences of the Brown v Board decision, and I deeply believe that there was a middle ground between Segregation & Integration. No way losing almost 40,000 Black teachers — many of whom were more qualified than White teachers was worth integrating.

One of the things that stuck out the most to me was having 171 slaves put you in the top 1% of 1% of Slaveowners. Learned that most slave owners didn’t really have over 9 at a time. Also learned that 3/4ths of White people didn’t own slaves at all because they were too poor.
