During WW II the Parliaments of the UK and Canada played a vital part of the war effort. They always sat (Westminster was hit 14 times by bombs) and both Churchill and Mackenzie King never neglected it. They saw Parliament as an instrument of public persuasion and legitimacy.

Today, while visiting our troops in the UK, I announced that Canada will contribute $33 million to the British-led partnership delivering high-priority air defence equipment to Ukraine. This initiative is providing Ukraine with hundreds of air defence missiles and systems.

As we near the end of Black History month in Canada, we remember the career of a pioneering Gunner CWO Errol Patrick, MMM, CD who was a Korean War vet, RSM of 3 RCHA, SM IG at the Artillery School, and RSM RCA before retiring in 1985. A true leader and example to all gunners.
