Welcome to World
#PalindromeDay
:
02 02 2020
This is the first time in over 900 years (since 11/11/1111) the date is palindromic no matter the date format.
It’s also the 33rd day of the year with 333 days left!
I’m delighted to say that little Josephine has finally made an appearance and turned our world upside down! 🥰
Thank you so much for all your messages in recent weeks - I’m so touched so many of you care. And thank you to the staff
@FrimleyHealth
Maternity who were amazing!😊
Ooh a very rare visitor to the UK! Jess Bradley spied this fabulous
#hoopoe
near Winchester.
I felt so lucky to spot one myself last year! Who else has seen one of these beauties?
I’m back in the hot seat after an exciting Australian adventure these past two weeks.
And I’m getting ready for an even bigger one... I’m delighted to say I’m expecting a little girl at the end of May!🥰
#StormEunice
may be the sort of storm we only see a handful of times in our lives.
Red = Gusts 70-90mph
Amber = Gusts 60-80mph
Think:
⚠️ Danger to life
⚠️ Falling trees
⚠️ Building damage
⚠️ Power lines down
⚠️ V. large wavs & coastal flooding
Stunning cloud formation over the Isle of White today! One of our lovely retired cameraman spotted it and I’ve never seen anything quite like it.
Think I’d probably call it Cirrus Fibratus but open to other suggestions...?🤔🤓
Here he is - the little guy who made 2022 such a special year for us!🥰
I’ve taken a bit of a break from social media since the birth but thank you so much for all the lovely messages - I truly appreciate each & every one!
Wishing you all much love, luck & happiness for 2023!☺️
Thank you so much for all the lovely messages and to the wonderful
@itvmeridian
team for such a fab send off!🥰
Hoping to say hello to my baby boy in October!💙
The
#LunarEclipse
eclipse is happening right now and peaking in about 20 minutes!
Roy Venkatesh has set a pretty impressive standard for awesome lunar eclipse photos...
Thank you to all my lovely colleagues at
@itvmeridian
for such a lovely lockdown send-off (I DEFINITELY didn't cry...🙈)
And thank you so much for all your kind messages too - I'm feeling very touched! 🥰
What a snow roller!😍
Believe it or not this is natural (but rare!) phenomenon caused by wind blowing over fresh snow.
Brian Bayliss in Wiltshire was the lucky spotter. Have you ever seen anything like it!?👏
In a year of so much unhappiness for so many, I feel very lucky to have become mum to such a little bundle of loveliness.
Thank you so much for all your message/photos and sorry I haven’t been on social media much. Sending my very best wishes for a happier, healthier 2021!❤️
What a contrast to last year! Southerly winds will bring very mild weather from the Canary Islands this week 🌡️ Feeling more like
#spring
instead

🌷
Fred is going to leave such a huge hole in the newsroom and it’s so hard to imagine Meridian without him.
I’m so sad I can’t be there this evening to be part of his last show and say goodbye to a wonderful friend, colleague and teacher.
Farewell Fred and thank you. 💙
Can’t stop thinking about what poor Carrie Symonds is going through right now. What a nightmare situation - pregnant, poorly and with her partner in intensive care. Wishing them both the very best.
Such emotive news today that wonderful Fred is leaving our little team!😭
To go from watching FD as a little girl to ending up working alongside him has been a joy and a privilege. Everyone at
@itvmeridian
will miss him dearly! ❤️
Fantastic

Am I the only one never not amazed by murmurations!?🤩 (If you can even follow the sense of that sentence!😂)
This shot was captured by Natasha Weyers. I'd love to see your pics and videos please!📸
It’s brilliant to be reunited with the team and getting back into the swing of broadcasting!
Thank you so much for all the lovely messages since I’ve been back - they really do mean a lot!😊
Following my pregnancy announcement last week I am also going into
#SelfIsolation
#Day1Week1
has been very surreal but I’ve spent today thinking about how to use the next 12 weeks to try to make it a positive experience!😊💪
Sending lots of good wishes to everyone 💗

🎄🎁 Merry Christmas from all of us at ITV News Meridian! 🎄🎁
We're all wearing
#Christmas
jumpers in the office today - are you?
Here's
@HollyJGreen
in hers! Tweet us your photos!
Hi all!👋 I’m having a break from social media while on maternity but couldn’t resist tweeting (do we still say that?🤷🏼♀️) this
#fallstreak
hole I just spotted! Hope you all have a super weekend!☺️
Lots of 'time to mow the lawn' chat at the moment. These creatures would prefer you didn't:
🐝Bees
🦋Butterflies & Moths
🪲Beetles
🦔Hedgehogs
🐸Frogs & Toads
🐦Birds
How about leaving the lawn (or a section of it) for our wildlife?🌱
Now I just need to convince Mr Green...🤔
I’m excited I get to use our new media wall to explain sudden stratosphere warming tonight!🤓 (The winter boots won’t be making an appearance on camera... 😂)
This weather chart changed the course of history.
The allies had cracked the German enigma code giving the
@metoffice
enough observations to forecast a storm system due on the 5th - the original date set for the landings. Thankfully they postponed until the following day!
#DDay74
I can’t believe I’m in France when the UK gets its warmest February day on record! First time we’ve hit 20C in winter! Crazy!
To be fair... I can’t moan too much about the weather here... 🌡🥵😃
Oh dear, the
#starlinksatellites
were rather underwhelming - what a disappointment! 😕
Apparently tomorrow at 9pm should be better (if your neck isn’t too cricked from tonight!!)
Morning all!👋
Tonight will be my last ‘sunrise or sunset’ for a while so I’d love to end on a high with a selection of your beautiful dawn and dusk photos!
And let’s make them nice and tricky for Fred and Sangeeta... 😉
Happy Christmas! I’m signing off for the year. Last pre-Christmas show just the lovely Fred Dinenage and me. Plus weather director Will sneaking into shot! Have a lovely Christmas all! 🥳🎅🏼🎄💫⛄️
This is why I love the weather - it never stops amazing me! 😍
These 'ghost apples' were discovered in Michigan after freezing rain coated the tree. When the apples rotted they slipped out leaving their perfect icy jackets behind!

All girl team on tonight to bring you the last programme of 2018 (& not forgetting fab Director
@MazLewer
keeping us in check!)
Thanks for all the love this year - wishing you a very happy 2019!xx
Once in a lifetime opportunity to view
#Jupiter
at the moment!
Tonight it's at its closest point to Earth since 1963 and with a decent pair of binoculars you should be able to view some of the bands and moons!
This is Tromsø is northern Norway where the sun has finally risen after 48 days.
(Sadly though it will stay hidden behind the mountains for another few days!)
#PolarNight
🌒
My little rascal dressed and ready for her TV debut on Meridian this evening!
(She’s got her first cold so smiles may be in short supply on the telly...🥺)
The highlight of my day filming for our special
#COP26
programme has to be when Cinnamon the sloth made an appearance 60 seconds before I went live!
#slothselfie
🔥 Thursday is going to be an absolute SCORCHER 🔥
🌡Hottest July day on record? Likely ✅
📈Hottest day EVER recorded in the UK? Possibly❓
#heatwaveuk
#hothothot
#recordbreaker
We’ll have a
#SuperPinkMoon
in our skies tonight. That means it will be
Bigger ✅
Brighter ✅
Pink ❌
It’s the biggest, brightest supermoon of the year as the moon is at it’s closest point to Earth. HOWEVER it won’t actually be pink - it’s named after the blossom of pink phlox.
Roses are red,
Violets romantic,
Dennis is strengthening
In the Atlantic...
Rapidly deepening
over the sea,
The lowest low pressure
Since Jan '93!
(And this is true - could be the deepest N. Atlantic low since the Braer Storm which hit 914mb!)

Wowsers! I've NEVER seen this before!🤓
I *think* this explains it:
Rainbows are circles. When the sun is low you see more of the arc. When the sun is above 42° the rainbow slips below the horizon. Here I think the sun is just below 42° so you only see the very top. Amazing!😍
It’s not often I get to interview a proper celeb!
Great fun to head to the Wickham festival this evening and chat to this music legend ⬇️😃
@itvmeridian
What an exciting year 2017 has been! Thank you for all the support, fun, chatter, photos & for generally being a fab bunch of twitterers over the last year!💓😊🌅💃
Wishing you all a super-duper 2018!!🥂😃🍀🙌
I’m back in the hot seat after an exciting Australian adventure these past two weeks.

In honour of
#WorldPhotographyDay
I’d love to see you favourite photos!
This is one of mine - it might not be that good technically but it reminds me of a wonderful evening on the Santorini caldera and it makes me smile!😊
Remembering today that I’m able to do a job I love because 75 years ago a generation of young men gave their lives for our freedom

#LestWeForget
Have a good weekend all!
And don't forget the moon will turn RED during the early hours of Monday morning. Eclipse totality last from 4:41 to to 5:43.
Worth getting up that early for right!?
#SuperBloodMoon
#LunarEclipse
Went to snap the beach at Margate and wish I hadn't !. Is it because the Council are not putting bins on the beach or is it the visitors fault , either way it's an utter disgrace 😯
Obviously all my lovely twitter followers know my news already but I’ll be doing a few videos etc in the coming weeks and popping up on Meridian this evening too.
Well I have to keep myself busy somehow!😁
#Week1Day4
Seriously, for anyone awake right now - go and photograph the sky looking north/overheard. Even your phone camera will pick it up and the longer exposure the better. It’s amazing.
