Once citizenship is removed, the right to seek refuge in a consulate is also removed. That means if this happens whilst the individual is outside of the UK, they'll be stranded without a right to appeal even if the nationality was removed as an error.

I’ve read some unbelievable attempts to justify this as “it applies to all Israelis”. No it doesn’t. This law allows Palestinians w Jerusalem IDs / Israeli citizenship to be deported to Gaza /Westbank- a war crime under international law. Jewish Israelis do not face this threat.

The only hospital treating cancer patients in Gaza has been hit by an Israeli strike, causing panic & fear among patients & doctors. The Turkish Friendship Hospital runs off a single power generator. Many of Gaza's 9,000 cancer patients rely on it; all their lives are at risk.

Reports that Mark Smith, the FCDO official who resigned over Gaza, has been described as a "junior diplomat" is an attempt to undermine the letter as insignificant. For one, he is a mid-level diplomat: Second Secretaries can often have a decade of experience, if not more.

2018: an Israeli sniper targeted & killed 21-year-old Palestinian medic, Razan al-Najjar, during protests in Gaza. The Israeli military released a video which claimed she was a Hamas human shield. The video was later revealed to have been doctored by the Israeli military.

In 2021 an Israeli army airstrike destroyed a high-rise building which housed the Aljazeera & AP bureaus. Israeli officials claimed it was a Hamas command center but refused to provide evidence. The White House said there was no evidence of Israel's claims that Hamas was present.

This is Hasna. We met her in North West Syria. She lost 7 members of her family following the earthquake. No international rescue workers arrived to help the victims in her town of Jinderis where 1,200 people were killed. What she says here will break your heart a thousand times.

Israeli special forces are now on the grounds of Al Aqsa in Jerusalem. We are here. Rubber bullets and sound grenades fired. Snipers are positioned around the grounds. 27 people reported injured. I was with journalists when rubber bullets were fired in our direction. @VICENews

Interesting fact(s):The international Federation of Journalists says 46 Palestinian journalists have been killed by Israeli forces since 2000. Not a single Israeli has ever been convicted by an Israeli /military court of a crime.

In 2020 26 y/o Ahmad Erekat was killed at an Israeli checkpoint. Israel claimed he was carrying out an attack but independent forensic analysis found that he had been involved in a car accident and was extrajudicially killed.
