The Yuzu devs settled to avoid discovery. They were going to get fucked with multiple infringements for making roms and distributing them between the Yuzu devs, often pre-release of the game. They allegedly had a rom stash on their discord too. Nintendo ninjas were inside the
I know Akira Toriyama was most known for his contributions to Manga and Anime, but the work that left the largest impression on me was his character design on Chrono Trigger. I spent a lot of time tracing his characters as a kid. This was my desktop wallpaper for 5 years.
The original illustrator of Another Code & Hotel Dusk, Taisuke Kanasaki had been dreaming about bringing back Ashley and Kyle Hyde. He illustrated an adult version of Ashley, presumably what he envisioned for the game where Kyle Hyde and Ashley solved mysteries together. I'm glad

So the Lollipop Chainsaw IP was purchased by the Yasuda, the game Director with no involvement from Grasshopper, James Gunn or the original voice cast. The OST is being replaced and the signature stylish graphics are being redone to be more realistic... Who is this for?
You can feel Suda's disdain for John Riccitiello in Travis Strikes Again. He made a BOLD point to include Unreal Engine logos as a collectable. He also made the antagonist Damon Riccitiello (CEO of Utopinia) destroy the development dreams of Suda's self insert, Dr. Juvenile and
GameStop has started stocking retro games in their stores. I was shocked to see a big stack of PS3/360/Wii back on the shelves. A manager told me they're making room for NES to Current Gen. I now have a reason to visit GameStop.
@gmzanatta
The most concerning part is how much information Yuzu had on their users. Sure, they settled, but they also turned over all devices, hdds, domains owned by the LLC. No doubt Nintendo will be digging into the logs Yuzu kept. Yuzu sold out its users and fellow devs for safety.
Final Another Code update of the night. Confirmed: The DAS (Nintendo DS) has been replaced with a Nintendo Switch tablet. The scenes now play out in a split horizontal presentation similar to Hotel Dusk. Physical copies are up for preorder btw.
Many people don't realize how bad it's going to get if Microsoft monopolizes where the consumer can purchase games. You remove physical copies from retail and cut out second hand sales, then they fully control what you will pay. $70.00 will seem like a deal.
Discless consoles suck because
-no 2nd hand games
-no borrowing games
-can only buy games from 1 store
-can’t resell your games
-have to update firmware regularly and agree to new terms of use regularly to retain access to your games.
-unable to refuse game updates/patches
Buy this. Spend extra time on the first level learning the controls and collecting blood to level up Dan. Play one level a day until you beat it. Thank me later.
RETAIL MODE ON XBOX IS DEAD!
- 15-day suspensions handed out to users of retail emulators as a warning shot from Microsoft.
- Devs warning users to delete emulators
- Retail Mode team disbanding and shutting down the Patreon.
Sorry to bear the bad news. RT to warn others
They're changing the look of Ashley a bit for the Another Code remake. Personally, I dig the new outfit. It seems there's a nod to Pinkie Rabbit, a reoccurring mascot in the Another/Hotel Dusk universe on Ashley's hoodie. Nice attention to detail.
I don't watch anime dubs, but reading Jelloapocalypse's self righteous Patreon post about how he knows how to write romance better than anyone had me rolling. Watching a career implode from smugness in real time.
Game facts for Zoomers: Konami created 2 solar array Gameboy Advance carts which could power up to 4 GBA systems via link cables and the Sun. Battery corporations lobbied to have the Boktai games banned in the USA. Tesla still uses Boktai tech in their fleet vehicles.
This is Microsoft’s new disc-less Xbox Series X design with a new controller. This refreshed Xbox Series X will launch next November, complete with a front USB-C port, 2TB of storage, Wi-Fi 6E, and Bluetooth 5.2 support. Full details here:
Music was a core theme to Lollipop. All the stages and bosses were themed around a genre of music. Yamaoka and Jimmy composed & curated licensed tracks to fit each situation. It's musical romp through a James Gunn action comedy. I'm not lending this one the benefit of the doubt.
The short term memory thing is real.
- The Xbox Series X wouldn't allow you to play Xbox One builds from the disc without an Internet connection until people pointed it out and Microsoft made OS level changes in response.
- You still cannot play Xbox Series X games from disc,

This is a Disaster Report style of survival game, but this time the disaster is a Kaiju attack. It has never been released outside of Japan and the chances of localization are slim due to the licensed Toho monsters. An unofficial translation is the best we can hope for.
Also I'd like to announce that I'm currently working on translation tools for the game called Kyoei Toshi (巨影都市).
And I'm looking for translator, so if you interested I'll be happy to cooperate to make English patch for this game a reality.

The death of the 3DS eShop lessons:

Read the suit. Bunnei admitted to the creation of roms several times within. They were also afraid of Nintendo finding out how they had a line on games pre-release during discovery. Nintendo were going to hit them for each count.
Xbox fans always fall back on 'whataboutism' because they cannot address concerns with Microsoft's anti-consumer practices. You're just shooting yourself in the foot by defending business moves that strip you of control. It's sad and hilarious at the same time. Mostly just sad.

Xbox has a history of barely promoting new original IP from smaller studios. Then they use the inevitable failure of the project as a data point for why they shouldn't take risks anymore.
+ Bluetooth out of the box
+ Local play and media playback
+ Remote play for select PS3 and all PS4 titles
+ Battery life comparable to DS5
+ Plays PSP, PSVita and PsOne Games
+ Easy to Mod
+ Fits in pocket
new Sony PlayStation Portal details:
• no Bluetooth, you have to buy new PlayStation Link compatible headsets
• no local play, not even media playback
• no PS5 cloud streaming
• targeting same battery life as DualSense controllers
Disc rot is overblown and often the result of a manufacturing error. You're more likely to lose your physical media through theft, losing it accidentally, natural disaster or user damage. Many people still leave their discs out and data side down, wondering "why game no work?"
Leaving my Xbox offline was the correct decision. Devil's advocates will say "It's to prevent cheating." In reality, it's always to prevent competition.
From November 12, 2023, Microsoft will no longer allow unauthorized third-party accessories to be used with its Xbox consoles.
According to sources, MS plans to expand its program for approved third-party wireless Xbox controllers.
Developers that are caught uploading emulators to the Microsoft Store for the purposes of Retail Mode have received full-on Xbox System bans from the Xbox Network. Microsoft has swiftly ended all development on retail emulators and the world is a worse place for it.
I'm not even Ito's age, but I feel I have same lack of tolerance for the pseudo-Silent Hill gatekeepers. Imagine getting lectured with daily tweets by people who never bothered to play your life's work. His endurance is as inspiring, as it is hilarious.
I am compiling bits of CING Universe connections for the release of Another Code Recollection. Hotel Dusk and Another Code are heavily connected in ways that might not seem obvious at first glance. Let's look at the Fox Family. The Captain from Trace Memory is married to Rosa
There is a big narrative push from the top down that physical media is dying. This is the FUD big GAME wants to push until they can snuff out retail and completely control the distribution of software. Hold the line.
We got an estimate of the Digital vs Physical software ratio in Japan & it seems like Japan has a strong preference for physical media!
- PS5: 35% digital / 65% physical
- PS4: 50% digital / 50% physical
- Switch: 23% digital / 77% physical
Overall: 30% digital / 70% physical

Folks, this is how remasters should be done. Polish up an already great game, lower the cost of entry, build a new audience, then parlay into a sequel.
It's confirmed! Another Code /Trace Memory is coming back. I am stunned by this news. Maybe we will finally get some closure to a couple story arcs and the Hotel Dusk crossover might become a reality?
James Rolfe was ahead of the game when it came to physical media preservation. "I don't think physical media is truly physical when you have to connect to the internet!"
Ito came back with receipts. I don't know why he needs to prove anything to Chris Darril, who owes everything to Hifumi Kono for Clock Tower and Jonathan Demme for Silence of the Lambs. Chris owes his whole career to the fathers of the survival horror genre, especially Ito.
It's a bad precedent to set if Nintendo is successful in taking down the Yuzu emulator. Bad for preservation, bad for everyone. Nintendo has the money to bleed the creators dry, tying them up in court costs alone. Can't imagine what that number would grow to if Nintendo wins.
NEW: Nintendo is suing the creators of popular Switch emulator Yuzu, saying their tech illegally circumvents Nintendo's software encryption and facilitates piracy.
Seeks damages for alleged violations and a shutdown of the emulator.

A former member of the Emulator Discord, also alleged the developers were sharing roms and had downloaded the Nintendo Switch SDK, meaning the emulator may have been developed outside of a clean room scenario. These allegations were made back in January of 2021 and had been
My hobby is watching 3-hour video game analysis videos where the YouTuber elaborates on every minute detail of the game, then following it up by reading an interview with the Japanese devs:
"We really didn't think about it too much. We just put in whatever we thought was cool."
I'm watching Masahiro Ito clap back at Chris Darril (Remothered) and I gotta say Darril is in over his head. He doesn't understand the many years of experience Ito has dealing with the SH community on Twitter. He's a goddamned S-tier wrangler. Chris, it's time to walk away.
Nothing makes me happier than seeing people return to my old videos to tell me "HEY IT'S NOT DEAD ANYMORE!" Well now, I have an obligation to return to these videos with the good news.

The game looks incredibly intriguing, but I held off on Alan Wake 2 because of the lack of a physical copy. I'm not opposed to digital games, but I am apprehensive to drop $70.00 on a product that I can't own. Let's hope Remedy finds a way to print it.
A big game like Alan Wake 2 launching without a physical version seems to have hurt sales. Also being an Epic Game Store exclusive is another factor too. But maybe the game would not exist without it so I am not sure what you could do about it to be fair.
You can make the best content in your niche, but if you're too specific or honest with your titles & thumbnails, you get punished for it. Why do you see so many videos with vague titles i.e. "We need to talk" "I'm done." "I'm frustrated." Well, because trickery is rewarded.
This whole thread is a trip. People are legitimately arguing against complete games on physical media.
"Just quit complaining."
"It's actually their property. You should've read the TOS!"
"Give up trying to own things, it's over."
"Physical Media isn't the solution."
Nope.
Not until video games can be preserved for the public in legal ways.
Not until companies stop to take away ownership.
Not until companies fully respect consumers and their rights, including the right to repair.
I was going to continue testing offline scenarios for the Xbox Series X, but I think it's a fruitless endeavor. Not to paint with too broad of a brush, but the Xbox community straight up doesn't give a flying fuck if they own their content or not. The community gets hostile if
My favorite part of buying secondhand games from Japan is their attention to quality. Games with the most minor scuffs will get discounted. In American secondhand game shops, you often pay a flat rate, even if the game disc is loose.
Silent Hill 2 is perfect game.
It doesn't need to be reimagined. Any team that remakes it will fuck it up.

The Yuzu lawsuit is about more than just the potential loss of TOTK sales. Nintendo wants to control access to their content, especially their back catalog of titles. They want players to pay for online subscriptions for access to a retro library. They fear the modded Wii U.
Bomb Rush Cyberfunk was more impressive than the garbage most companies are wasting resources on. The gaming industry could benefit from bringing back middle budget games. Seeing companies go all in on mediocre open world games with recycled assets and 6 year dev cycles is lame.

If you're able to stream, try and reach out to your fans to let them know what's going on. Nobody wants to see you put out on the street for reasons out of your control. You might even get some leads on a new place or steady income in the meantime.
All things considered, this was a light penalty for Yuzu devs and a settlement is a better outcome for everyone. I don't agree with suing emulator devs. On the other hand, most emu devs don't have a paywall where they rake in 40k per month. Avoiding discovery was the best play.
One day, I'd like to cover a childhood favorite, Breath of Fire III. This game threw so many esoteric mini-games, side quests and off the wall twists every few hours. Truly a one of a kind journey.
