the sun crashing thru the clouds. it was during a peaceful drive in the country. while listening to a guy on the radio give his opinions on the royal family.
There was checkpoint but no one was there. Instead there was a handwritten sign that said to get wristbands in another building. Admittance was on the honor system. Rural Wisconsin.
Pumpkin spice is on the menu again. Spirit Halloween stores are back in vacant buildings. Boxes of Christmas merchandise are on store floors waiting to be put on shelves. It's 100 degrees today in Illinois, too hot for a bicycle ride.
at first the cement wall was new. over the course of time nature started to reclaim it. but the structure had a purpose so it was maintained in a way that emphasized practicality of purpose over ascetics.
i like to work everyday objects into something that makes me feel good. because everyday objects are easily accessible and the subject matter is irrelevant when the goal is to create a feeling. sometimes i revisit them and wonder what i was thinking. that's when i try to remember
water : remixed. while documenting a local plein air painting group I wander off to find things of interest before heading back to my duties. a few more photos of the group and it's back to wandering.
I admired the design of this trellis. So much so that I walked right up to it taking photos not realizing until leaving that I had stumbled into a secluded conversation two people were having in a secluded section of the Chicago Botanic Gardens.
line of lights. strung across the ceiling. 95 degrees outside. there was a gradient of temperatures from the open door up front to the air conditioner unit in the back, which had nothing to do with the lights.
