When they go to sign the marriage license and get a moment alone, Ghost asks him how he's feeling. Soap just says, "This is the happiest day of my life." "No doubts?" "Not even for a second." And Ghost just smiles, kisses him hard, for the longest time, and says, "Me neither."

how he'd fought a dragon before, almost killed it before he realized it was guarding an egg - only territorial and so mean because people kept coming onto her mountain. how ghost destroyed the path to her cave instead and was called a coward and liar for refusing to kill her.

"and do you want to be rescued, johnny?" "not really," soap replies. "don't really feel like getting married off to some royal I don't even know." ghost nods. he never really planned to force the prince to get married anyway. was just going to rescue him and let him on his way.

grabbing each other a little too hard just because they can, being too loud and pretending it's painful or humiliating or just the *worst* form of torture as soap starts coming dry and every brain cell is dedicated to resisting the urge to kiss ghost and tell him how good it is.

ghost huffs, nods, bows his head to offer his helm. "fair enough." soap takes it off carefully, clutching it to his chest like his finest treasure. he stares up, takes in the scars and the black around ghost's eyes, the shape of his jaw and messy hair. "pretty," he says.

breaking a new piece of furniture every other week and snickering to themselves while they stay up late to fix what they broke/reinforce it for next time. curled around each other and just so fucking charmed by each other, laughter coming easily no matter what.
