To avoid a loss of volume when bending the spine create a helper bone, that moves in sync with the spine bone, weightpaint the front of the mesh and put a rotation constraint in Unity.
Great for a natural bending especially when in FBT!
Was quite fun remaking this scene that plays with verticality and perspective, not even considering how fun it is to mess up your room doing these tricks!

Just found this one on my PC and I guess it's better to share it now than never. During the last day of EchoVR I went out and scanned NeRFs as a way of preserving one of the most important games in VR history.

Idea:
Your hip tracker will NEVER translate 1:1 movements since it's resting on your side/front, not in your VR rig hip bone.
What about a steamvr addon that would offset both rotation and position of the tracker to your avatar hip bone? (by imputting your irl hip radius).

Remaking this scene from BNHA anime as an excuse to practice more vfx + unusual compositing.
I recorded the background first with a Camera Rail tool that let me specify a movement path, and then posed for each frame to overlay on top.
It's a neat effect but takes lot of effort!

VRChat filmakers often waste SO much footage because the camera wasn't set in Stream mode (camera mirrored to desktop)
Would be awesome having an icon telling us in what mode we're in to avoid finding out 3 hours later during editing 👁️
Digitigrade vs Plantigrade, from all the work i've put into it i accidentally went full circle back to the original, and ngl i prefer it in FBT over the classic furry legs!

Increase the poly limit, avatar detail and craftsmanship have increased dramatically from a few years ago, especially when you see models up close in VR you need those extra polys.
More polygons in reasonable amount don't have any impact in performance, it's not 2004.
It's about time VRChat updated the polygon limit again tbh, 70k is too small, and we all know polys are not the main cause of performance issues. You can have a super optimised model in every aspect but if it's 71k polys you're marked as very poor 😭

Voicing my opinion, less than a month to have a short film submission for

makes stuff harder than they could be, this is worse than last year's.

There's room for improvement but i'm satisfied with the results!

There must be ways to do that though, impostors are a janky and ps1 quality way of optimizing, now imagine if vrchat itself could do a better job at optimizing during the upload process! Maybe an automated SDK thing where they decimate your Avi.
