We've had the most exciting morning EVER! Pupils wore their GTFC t-shirts today in support of the Grimsby Town quarter final game against Brighton tomorrow. We've had 2 regional TV crews in to interview pupils! The footage will be on the news tonight, so don't miss it! #GTFC

Our Yr 10 pupil, Rio, is officially the 50m backstroke British Champion for under 15 yrs and bronze medalist for 100m backstroke. Rio has been selected for the next phase of the Swim England Talent Pathway Programme which will nurture and develop him for the international arena.

This morning, the Science department hosted Yr 5 primary pupils who were taking part in a Science based Who-dunnit! Pupils turned detective, collecting evidence to find out who the baddie was in a serious incident that had occurred in the store room! #teamhealing #whodunnit

We hosted the Year 10 rounders tournament last night. Team entries were low due to other schools on work experience, so our wonderful Year 9's stepped in and helped to make up the teams. Although no win, the Healing teams came a respectable 3rd and 5th positions. #rounders

Yesterday we enjoyed a fantastic Christmas dinner cooked by our catering team, Mellors. It is quite a task to cook dinner for a family, so to feed over 1,000 of us in less than 90 minutes is a huge achievement! Thank you so much, it was delicious. #schooldinner @mellorscatering

3 Year 7 pupils Ella, Elise and Shoshoni took part in the ESF National Football Tournament at Skegness and won the tournament! They play for Grimsby Borough Bronze and will now play at St George's Park for the grand finale. Ella was presented with the trophy by Kevin Keegan! 📷

We're sorry that Mr Blakey from our premises team will leave us this summer. He's been with us for 2 yrs and is well known for his helpful can-do attitude. Luckily, Mr Blakey is transferring to Great Coates Primary, so he will still be working within the Harbour Learning Trust.

During HSC Careers Week, we welcomed Hannah, a community nurse from Care Plus. Hannah brought experience and passion to the role. She inspired students to consider careers in the HSC sector. Thanks too, to First Avenue Training, who provided info about childcare apprenticeships.

All year, Mr Ingham has run a fishing club as part of our Upskills programme. Pupils learnt how to identify fish and how to use fishing equipment. Today they got to try out all the skills they'd learnt and they were very successful with their catches! #TeamHealing #gonefishing

Year 7's had a brilliant day today. Students were competing in the National Careers Challenge. Working in teams of 6, students completed a series of different tasks around a topic set by the 'employer'. Pupils enjoyed working as a team on their pitches. #nationalcareerschallenge

Last week, Year 9 pupil, Finnley, told us all about his flight experience as part of the Cadets at RAF Cranwell. It was Finnley's first time in a plane and to sit in the actual cockpit with Air Officer Commander, Rich Maddison was truly an exceptional experience. #royalairforce

What a fabulous experience pupils had this morning at the Year 9 graduation ceremony. It was an exciting moment for the pupils as they transition into KS4 and prepare for their last 2 years at Healing Academy. It was wonderful to see so many supportive and friendly families.

The PE team have been encouraging more girls to get involved with football as part of the Let Girls Play initiative. Last night 30 girls turned up to play. There were all captained by a year 11 player, who all did a fantastic job of mentoring the younger players. #LetGirlsPlay

Today, @networkrail are in school talking to the students about staying safe around railway lines. As we are coming up to the summer and young people have more free time, we wanted ensure our students were well informed about the rules around railways and the dangers they pose.

Year 9 and 8 pupils have spent the afternoon with the Royal Navy in school today. Pupils took part in both physical and problem solving exercises. Pupils enjoyed the experience and it gave them further options to consider once leaving school. @RNEngagement #royalnavy #Attract

We were delighted to hear about the achievements of Max, who left Healing Academy last year. Max completed a 1 year level 3 subsidiary diploma in aerospace engineering at the Aerospace Institute in Lincoln, and at 17, joined the RAF in August. Outstanding achievement Max!
