there was a group of 4 tourists at millbrae going to SF theyre about to buy caltrain tickets to use bart, i show them to the bart machines tell them they each need an $3 clipper card and 5.50 fare each way or they can try to get a card on their phones for free they took uber

i think bart made a big mistake eliminating paper tickets. At least having a limited use clipper card paper card for a lesser fee or the option to pay for many people with a single card would be great

Not surprised by the low ridership on the central subway. When you build a train with unreliable 12 minutes headways that has buses running faster and more often than it, there’s no reason for me to walk 1/2 a mile underground

This is not a one off situation, many fellow youth have been harassed by fare inspectors and even denied entry to muni metro stations by station agents. Youth feeling harassed and discriminated against by MTA employees was one of the main issues identified by the YTAB. Do better.

Excited to announce my resolution calling for the SFMTA, SFCTA, and SF Rec Park to develop a plan to reduce transit delay on the 44 on 9th Avenue and MLK Drive was unanimously approved. The resolution also calls for restoration of the 76X to Marin Headlands and a Camp Mather Bus

Many people miss the problem with transit frequency. It isn’t that the bus should come every 5 min instead of every 6, it’s that the bus needs to actually show up every 6 minutes. Dumping service onto a route just to have that service gapped and stuck in traffic doesn’t help

I asked SF Park ranger badge 24 to move his car from obstructing the entire crosswalk forcing me to walk into busy fulton street at night but he refused and another ranger asked for my ID stating im in the park after hours.

The bay area’s biggest problem in transit rn is there just aren’t a lot of big projects to get excited about. Geary BRT has been watered down to nothing, Central Subway and VN BRT are done, BART to SJ and tube 2 are 10+ years away. Caltrain electrification is happening i guess…

Now is the time for a Guerrero/Laguna Muni route. There’s currently a 7 block gap in N-S service between Fillmore and Van Ness and a 4 hilly block gap between Mission St and Church. The route could also provide new service on Circular with connections to City College and BART.

Why do we allow our transit to be like this. Imagine if we set up a checkpoint where we checked license, registration, and insurance of every driver who crossed the bay bridge for 3 hours everyday, nobody would tolerate it.

Van Ness BRT started out looking pretty nice, lots of shelters, public art, etc. but a lack of maintenance has lead to the shelters missing maps, broken glass, and grafitti while the platforms are covered in trash. Guess all the $$$ goes away after the ribbon cutting

school buses encapsulate a lot of what’s wrong in america. -people live too far to walk or bike from school -there is insufficient public transportation to serve the places w/the capacity schools demand -roads and drivers are dangerous so the bus has to be yellow w/ hella lights
