Denji sweeping untransformed made me so happy. Regular people should feel like easy pickings for him considering he's only ever fought monsters and Kishibe
Something that always worried me about pochita, was if his motives were malicious but near the end of part 1 I knew for certain that wasn't the case, with pochita going out of his way to fulfil child Denji's dreams of hamburgers and ice cream. He's just simplistic.
i like that All chainsaw man characters (including makima, even) are pathetic messes. you can't name a single character who has their shit unrealistically together & i love the series for it (also makes sense for that to be the case in a society literally plagued by fears)
pretty convinced that Yoshida isn't working with Kishibe now. Kishibe would be the last person to want Denji to stop fighting devils when he's clearly built for it. Public safety in tokyo is also operating on a skeleton crew and they are clearly no replacement.
Personally subscribing to the belief that it isn't that Makima's control is still being exerted since everyone else was freed from it, but that Nayuta doesn't view herself as superior to Barem and may in fact be scared of him which is preventing her powers from working.
The idea of Denji learning to use pochita's superspeed outside of chainsaw form like how Quanxi can is cool, but personally I just think it's funnier if Denji just jumped down the school building and ran up the stairs to intercept Sugo
I'll forever appreciate how Farlyn is one of the only characters genuinely excited about Laios's interests. He's not just there to rescue his sister, but the only person who understands him. His face when he gets to talk to a happy audience about his adventures is just great.
They cut Denji protecting the woman from getting sliced by Katana's iai which is a shame, instead he just falls next to her and she isn't at risk. I wish they kept it because I like seeing Denji's acts of heroism and him saving the little girl from muscle devil was also cut
A scene I was particularly excited for was pretty underwhelming in my eyes. I think a big mistake was made in not showing laios's immediate expression when Falin reprimands him and it didn't quite have the same emotional impact as the same pages in the manga.
He's not going to do some heel turn where he grows dissatisfied with Denji's dreams, he's enjoys them all, because they aren't little to him, he values them all.
I'm getting ticked off. The implication that Angel wasn't a kind person before meeting Aki is hurting me with how untrue it is. Angels devil side never overpowered his angel side.
Really love how this scene was done and the sound design. Whereas the chapter ends as denji bursts out, the episode did really good staggering that reveal for next episode, makes eternity devil so much freakier.
Thinking about how none of the hybrids shown have eclipsed Reze in terms of presentation, even Quanxi whose older than her felt a lot more limited in ability. Reze could remote detonate her corpse, turn her legs into missiles, use her fingers as bombs, fly, boost her punches.
Oh there's actually a sector that's focused on naming the devils with the concept, before I thought it was just guesswork on their part. I'm enjoying a lot more public safety lore
don't want to believe it's Denji because he doesn't seem the type to care enough to track Yuko down and kill her with nobody to witness. Want to believe it's another instance of Pochita splitting from Denji like he did at the cemetary, but pochita had metal arms this one doesn't
Something I always liked about CSM is how characters can give advice that's completely wrong as it's skewed by their personal bias' and characters have to come to their own conclusion based on their experiences. Makes them more human when characters are allowed to be incorrect
@TheGreatApeWar
It really brightens up when you see all the other contracts in the series and how evil they are. The fact Pochita gives Denji such an easy out is proof of their love. Powers is a close second since she imposed no time limit on Denji
I can't take any complaints about the art change from fire punch to CSM seriously if the person complaining neglects to mention the fact he had the authors of Dandandan, Spy X family and Jigokuraku as assistants at the time. He also wasn't in the Weekly Shonen Jump grind house.
@JoeLongBalls
I think about that line regarding love live where the reason there are not any males isnt for yuri reasons but because male fans would commit domestic terrorism if a male walked within one kilometer of Nico
I don't think this is going to work considering Denji and Quanxi were both immune to transformation by the Doll devil's powers, both by being touched by the puppets and by Santa personally.
Reading back it's hilarious that Aki is famous for being such a hater. Out of everyone in public safety he's the one whose well-known for hating devils. How do you even earn such a title.
Yoshida knowing about Chainsawman's concept erasing ability has fully convinced me that he's working with Kishibe since he was the only other person to know about it besides Makima.
Yeah Barem is doing really well for me, I'm glad because part 2s villain wasn't properly defined and I was annoyed by how we went from one mysterious unseen devil pulling the strings (justice) to another (Fire) without much reason to care. I like how he "gets" Denji.
Really cool that the government just rounds up people inciting hysteria, makes sense considering media alone could boost devils to catastrophic levels. I eat this worldbuilding gratefully
One of my favourite things in csm is the contract system. Some devils want a ritual setup before use, some devils base their price on their whims or show bias towards certain people. The varied prices a human must pay, almost always cruel. I want to see more, especially the costs
Something deeply funny about all these devil hunters with reinforced suits getting bisected by Whip whereas fumiko in street clothes just gets slapped on the ass.
Something I always loved about Aki is despite his typecast looks, he's actually someone with an active social life and friends. Its funny to me that if you looked at him without knowing, you'd think he is just be another edgy revenge seeking loner.
now that im calmed down a bit, The Zombie devil fight was probably my least favourite part of the entire episode. I did enjoy the sound design though. Also I'm sad that they didn't adapt that brilliant first spread, was looking forward to it.
My only complaints about the Reze arc being a movie is that the accessibility for western audiences can really suck, also inevitable condensing of an already tight narrative. My only hope is that stuff isn't cut for anime original material like last time
Noticing the gaits of people behind you and immediately setting a trap is some cool shit. I like devil hunters with competence offset only by their mortality
The muscle devil victim girl is one of the very few to know Denji's secret identity as chainsaw man. It's nice of her to keep her mouth shut. it's neat that most people recognise csm as being a member of public safety, I wonder if that impression still holds now that he's famous.
@Cerebrawl37
Gun devil being officially dead killed any revenge motivation too. Aki said it himself, the only ones who live are the ones who don't joined for the pay or shallow reasons
Yoshida hasn't been this creepy in a good while, he's so simple now it's disappointing. It's like the only hold over from part 1 is we still know nothing about him personally and he ends up being this blank slate that just exposits when he bothers to stick around and not vanish.
It's funny how much of a nerf becoming a fiend is for a devil, Power goes from being able to make People rupture without even touching them to barely being able to stop somebody bleeding out. Makes me wonder just how absurd Yoru was before she fought pochita and met Asa.
Really hope there's more bizarre things than Devil's in CSM, I really want there to be fucked up things that Pochita missed that are just that neither Devil's or Humans are prepared for.
Getting rid of the only person who can contend with heavy hitter devils in favour of these goobers is just asking to be shot in the foot. Yoshida talking about young voters and politics makes me think he's just employed by the acting government to maintain the status quo.
