He pulled up to speak at my b-ball camp in a pickup truck with an old bass boat on the back.His friend drove and when he got out bottles fell out of the truck.His first words “Lakers r threw and when u c them tell them I said it” He shot for 45 min and missed 3 shots and left.

There was only one place for food when we got home late from a SEC road game in the 80’s..Tolly Ho! The line would be out the door and the students would clap for us and let us go to front of line if we won..if we lost no ya”ll got to get in line ..80’s kept it real!

Spoke to Coach Hall a short time ago..at 90 he was in his pregame mode by walking his beloved dog (labradoodle) before the game. Asked if he could watch the whole game due to late night tip.. “without coffee” was his answer. Info shared with permission. Time to saddle up BBN..

Joe B took freshmen 2 his Cynthiana farm when arriving on campus & we would think ”wow!, coach must have big plans for us & wants 2 talk ball”..If there wasn’t room in his cab you rode n the bed..after his tour we ended up weed eating, mowing, & cleaning his barn..like all day!

When u watch your opponent shoots 20 more FT’s than u & u see your mates going 2 the bench n foul trouble you start to play passive on “D” just to stay in the game..it looks like no effort but it’s not..it’s why we lost the battle on the boards..poor reffing has a domino effect..

Past Kentucky coaches have gone out of their way to recruit in state players. They believed they understood what Kentucky Basketball was all about and brought heart and passion to the team. We haven’t won without a Ky kid..so much 4 the recruit “best talent” crowd. U win w/💙!

Pete Rose came to most of our home games in the 80’s. He sat in the home side end zone below our parents. He never came into our Rupp locker room. However, after we upset #4 UNLV in the 85’ NCAA Tournament he met us at our next practice in Memorial & gave us all a Reds t-shirt..

BBN, always a tough loss when it’s 2 Ville. I thought our guys fought hard for the W. We had our chances. Several guys had good moments. Harsh reality is we r 1-6 and not making much progress between games. Even bigger, fans r losing faith n the season & direction of the program.

Our family is celebrating the life of Barbara Lee Gutman today, my mother-in-law, who lived her last 8 years w/Alzheimer’s. Endeared by all her family we were blessed to know her ❤️ and persona. She left us w/ so many good times to live on. N God and memory may she live eternal✝️
