As the weather gets better we are seeing more aggregate and fill trucks on the roads. Trucks should not be filled to the top of the box, items roll from the high point & straight off the side. A load should be below the box edge. Drivers are responsible for checking the load.^MD

How much tint is too much tint? This Tesla grabbed my attention when I couldn’t see the driver stopped beside me at the red light. 6% of light is transmitting through both the front & side windows (94% tint). This is unsafe and illegal. Repeat offender. Charges issued ^DB

Great stop by one of our Marine Officers on the way to the Marina today from HQ. This truck just pulled off the QEW at Bronte. Due to the lack of load security some of the skids moved around and one almost came off completely. This is unacceptable. ^DB

The SPIF regs for axle weights are the law in Ontario. If you choose to fit an override switch & run loaded with the axle up,each weight fine has $200 added. This truck was nearly 4.5t over on its steer axle & 1.5t over on each steer tire. Load insecure as well. @HaltonPolice ^MD

This is why you need to get out the cab & check your vehicle before you leave the job site. Once on the road, the insecure load is the drivers fault, not the loaders. This truck was also overloaded. OOS #secureyourload @HaltonPolice

A sharp eyed @HRPSMiltHH traffic officer saw this disaster rolling through a school zone today #Safestart . The trailer weighed 9500kg & had NO BRAKES. The driver only had a G class licence, the blocks were insecure, safety chains damaged. Plates removed & OOS @HaltonPolice ^MD

This pickup was stopped in @HRPSOak . A 1/4 ton pickup is light duty & not for loads like this. Gross vehicle weight rating 2990kg, actual weight 4300kg Rear axle rating 1480kg actual load was 2900kg. Tires rated for max 1150kg, loaded with 1550kg on r/side 1350kg on l/side.^MD

Although I prefer the vehicles to be a little bigger, I couldn’t let this one carry on in its current condition. Defects included: Flat tire, load security, overloaded tires, worn chains and signal/brake light inoperative. Driver educated and parked until issues are corrected.^DB

This flatbed was stopped by @HRPSMiltHH @cvsa truck inspector this morning. If you looked closely you can see the shoddy attempt at a repairs. This is a good indicator that the operator knew the defect was there and it didn’t just happen ^pm

CVSA Inspector stopped this dump truck in south Burlington for a random inspection. Defects found included - 2 broken leaf springs on steer axle, badly worn air line being rubbed by driveshaft and a damaged rim causing a cut in the tire. ^DB

Please do not make your own licence plates if your old ones are missing or damaged. A+ for effort but not allowed. CMV also has several mechanical issues (flat tire, failed air loss test, overweight issues) placing it OOS. Vehicle is now un-plated awaiting a tow truck ^DB

Landscape vehicle stopped today in @HRPSOak The driver was using an invalid Mexican licence. The trailer weighed 5650kg so an Ontario AR or AZ licence was required. A number of defects were also found. Companies must ensure staff are properly licensed and vehicles are safe.^MD

This load was stopped on Dundas St yesterday. The total weight was 79000kg, (173800lbs). Some bridges on Dundas St are not rated for this weight. The machine was leaning due to poor loading & had 2 loose chains of 4 being used. "Just going down the road" (2km)^MD @HaltonPolice

When tows are requested to the scene of a collision by and involved driver. Please be sure to arrive with proper and safe equipment. No tire tread or bearing hub caps have this tow placed out of service. Tow awaiting new dollies from a colleague. #roadsafety ^cb

When this gravel truck came grinding to a halt today at the @OPP_HSD blitz, the driver said his mechanic told him it was just stones stuck in the brake.......wrong big time!! The front right brake pads and shoes were missing, causing metal to metal contact. OOS @HaltonPolice ^MD
