Today, we remember Matthew N. Harty, brother of Capt. R. Harty. Matthew passed away from Mitochondrial disease in 2013. He will always be part of the HPNA family. The Harty family is in our thoughts today. 12/11/05-12/19/13.

It was a disappointing end to the season because we set a high standard & a schedule to match.
The ride was stressful but rewarding: we had the most wins 18 & goals 89 in our history, won our first league title & had 3 all stars: Eliana Kane (MVP) Hannah Keating & Jenny Hubbard
Senior night Tournament atmosphere Killing 8 penalties. What else can you expect. For our top players to perform. Goals by Hannah Keating, Recesse Pascucci, Eliana Kane (2) and 25 saves from Jenny Hubbard. HPNA closes out with a 4-2 win over Andover

SCORING CORRECTION
So here's the deal. We initially report the goals based on the game sheet usually within minutes of the game. We review the film and revise. We rarely do so by tweet. Last night's first goal was tipped in by Sophie Znamierowski. Her first career goal.
Austin Prep, Saturday 4:30, Merrimack College...
Who is HPNA?
We played 3 teams, 5 games v elite 8. Record of 3-2, all within 2 goals...
Meet our (4 year) seniors:
Captain Alyssa Mazzocchi
Ella Roe
Captain Riley Buckley
Emma Skafas
Captain Katerina Yelsits
A good goalie makes saves & wins games.
A great goalie:
makes saves,
controls rebounds,
instills confidence,
All the while by making it look easy cuz they are positionally sound.
I think we have one of the great ones.
Juliana Taylor looks to add many more to her thousand saves
Haven't heard of Julianna Taylor: read
Haven't heard of Paige Nottingham: watch
Then there's Chase Nassar: the glue that binds them, the seasoning on the food. v top lines, logging minutes (25+), pp, pk, creating opportunities.
Stay at home D aren't flashy because they just do it
Over came depleted bench against Westford. Hannah Keating in the second, they tied shortly after. Then Eliana Kane PP goal with 85 seconds left for a 2-1 win. Our 14th of the season. The most in our 7 year history.

Great win for our team last night. I would like to give a stick tap to M/T players & especially coaches. They played hard and clean throughout the game and were graceful in defeat.
90+ minutes, 6 goals each, 1 overtime, 1 win each, makes for a good rivalry.
congratulations to captains Hannah Keating and Eliana Kane for being selected to the MVC-large all conference team. AND much respect to the coaches in our league that recognized their talents in an extremely competitive league with limited spots.

I am shocked that teams (outside our league) are surprised by the skill of Julianna Taylor. Seriously: here is one of her now over FIFTEEN HUNDRED saves... in her third season.
Not a secret: they kept pranking me by wearing every school sweater but where they are going. Someone had to send this to me.
Committed & accepted, now its deposits, major & room selection, tuition bill time.
Hannah to Utica
Eliana to UNE
Who is HPNA?
We had off ice obstacles to overcome. But that just made us closer.
Here are our juniors:
Kaitlyn Bush
Cassie Doherty
Shelby Nassar
Yep, that's it. 8 seniors and juniors. That means 4 frosh with serious playing time - no frosh skaters on the top line

Who is HPNA?
It has clear a strong goalie is needed to advance. And when your team is scoring 2 goals a game the margin for error is nil. Frosh Julianna Taylor clearly is 'big time' and huge part of where we are now.
Thanks to Eagle-Tribune and with her D.
Special thanks to Jenny Hubbard for giving way part way in the third to backup goalie Kira Connors to secure the shutout. HPNA 7-0 over Central Catholic
One week in, amazing to see the joy of our players for the opportunity to compete.
We were joined this week by alumni: Hannah Keating, Rebecca Harty, Tamara Hoar, Eliana Kane and new goalie coach Michaela Kane (all are home with a current player or coach)
Steel hardens steel.
Tonight is round 2 v Methuen/Tewksbury. Since we lost to them in overtime we won 9 straight, M/T is 6-1-1. A win gives us our first MVC Large title. We host with a 5p start.

A wise person told us sometimes less is more. So we took Friday and Saturday off. Thanks to Westwood for scrimmaging us tonight. It was a good kickoff to the second season. Hey I might tweet alot but there was no way I was tipping off this
HPNA would like to to thank trainer Dave Warwick, Mark & Sandy Bosco, rink staff, the Boosters, families and businesses that have supported us along the way. We couldn't do it without you!!
Thank you again Coach Bernie for the Coach buses to the south shore!!

Capt. Amanda Regan (N. Andover)
Amanda plans on attending college next year but at the moment undecided.
Fav. HPNA moment: Always jokingly singing duets to songs with Keelin in the locker room.
What will you miss the most? I will miss my teammates, they have become sisters!
ROUND 3
we know each other well... too well. we both know a single mistake could swing the game. but we both have working all season for this game, this opportunity to advance.
Thanks to AD Dan Thorton for the pic.
Down 2-1 going into the third the team cranked it up with 18 shots and 3 goals for a 4-2 comeback win over Lincoln Sudbury. Hats off to Hannah Keating, 3 goals and Eliana Kane had the fourth

March is National Athletic Training Month. We have the best trainer. He is a motivator and goes above and beyond for our team. Dave, thank you for everything you do for us. The Seniors and the team gave Dave a pair of skates to show our appreciation.

Soooo... kinda sorta didn't work as planned. Hingham was just too strong. Gave up a shorty in the first then 2 more in the second... our team gave a strong effort and left it on the ice. I was proud to help coach them this year and know they will do well in the future.
Our captains this year...
Gabi Locke
Rachel Keating
Gabby Harty
Yes they sound familiar...
Gabi's sister, Kami, is frosh D.
Rachel's sister is former HPNA star Hannah (Utica).
Gabby's sister is HPNA all time point leader Rebecca (Merrimack).
Doesn't matter we had more players in the trainers room than not OR the seniors took half the practice to make sure their hair was perfect for pictures OR that Kendall can't finish a joke OR the rankings are missing our last win.

we played the entire bench and still made it interesting, losing 6-3 to Peabody. so what does a team do after the season is over on the road --- make the fun coach buy them dinner, not at one place but two

Here is a team video edited by Matt Bosco from work his dad Mark did. Mark was at nearly every game recording it all. Then posted key moments. We never gave him credit for his work in fear our opponents would use it against us. But he was appreciated
The level of difficulty ramps up substantially as 5 of our final 6 games are against league opponents. We have only a 1 point lead over M/T.

Every coach wants wins. That means goals. And those that can, get the spotlight. Sometimes that must be shared. The last game: Emma Skafas 'quietly' had 3 assists.

There are big games then there are BIG games. This must be HUGE as the city is unveiling their newest addition: brand new electric Zamboni for our showdown v Methuen in 24 hours.
Peabody scored early Deanna Bosco tied it, 1-1 after 2. Out shooting them 3-1 finally swung for us with 3 within 3 minutes then Hannah Keating (2) closed it with a 3v5 shorty netting a 5-1 win. Kat Yelsits and Morgan Whitlock had goals.
