@NYPost_Mets One of the best comments I've seen from Lindor. The offense wasted the best of deGrom for years. About time the every day players acknowledged that failure & how it was a huge reason for the overall team failure.

@Super70sSports Overlooked on the play is that unlike most of today's catchers, Gary Carter sets up waiting for the throw BEHIND the plate in foul territory, instead of in front of the plate in fair. Ofc the ball travels faster than a person can reverse to swipe tag - fundamentals.

@timbhealey I guess you think $21M/1yr is a wise contract? The guy came back after TJ surgery & immediately had to return to IL. Then made a cameo late, where he DID NOT throw sliders (which had been his most effective pitch before injury.) For once, I agree with the Mets. Too risky.

@Super70sSports I say this every time someone posts this play...& I'll say it again. Notice where Gary Carter sets up to receive the throw. In FOUL territory, allowing the ball to travel to him in position to make the quick tag. Today, catchers are in fair territory & make the slower swipe tag.
