My 9-year old son Jacob just got his running streak to 100 days today, and his 10 year old friend Doyle is only 4 days behind. Jacob has run exactly 300 miles during the streak. When asked why he runs everyday, he said, “running everyday means I accomplish something everyday”.

Seniors Zach Albrecht and Mark Lemke both qualify for the state cross country meet, finishing 13th and 17th place, in 15:02 and 15:07! Both were out of qualifying spots with a mile to go and flew to the finish! Mark grabbed the last qualifying spot in the final 5 meters!

I was ready to run on the treadmill after going to store until I saw Zach Albrecht doing a tempo run in negative degree windchills. That led to me doing a 7 miler today and finishing with an icycle on my eyelid. Including shoes, I was wearing 6.4 pounds of gear to stay warm.

10k today for Jacob! 6.2 miles in 1:00:02, 9:41 pace without a single stop. Tough early going, but finished with a 9:23-9:00 and a sprint. Best run he has ever had! Not bad for 9 years old!

Eli Marszalek had kept an immaculate running log since his freshman year, when he was a 20 minute cross country kid. He came into his 3200 today at 4,998 total miles. When he crossed the line, in his first sub 10 3200, he hit his 5,000th high school mile run! Congrats Eli!

Went for a long run and turned it into a marathon. New PR, but missed the time I wanted. Was on pace for Boston time through 23.5, then fell apart and ran 3:19.22. Big PR still so I’ll take it, even though it’s not official and I just ran around my neighborhood.

Distance boys were seeded to score 1 point tonight, ended up placing in every distance event. 4x8 stepped up for 4th. 3200 guys ran gutsy in the latter stages of the race for 4th and 6th. Godinez scores from section 1 of the 800. Ruffin runs a crazy last 150 to score in the 1600.

When you need to get a track workout done, you don’t have access to the indoor track, and the track is covered in snow....you break out the shovels! Great workout today outside, include shoveling out the track before the workout! True dedication!
