Imagine being an indie studio and making a game that’s more successful than Halo, Destiny 2 and Starfield
Cannot imagine Arrowhead’s excitement
Congrats on making a truly fun and wonderful co-op game that has me absolutely hooked
If you’re annoyed from seeing too much HELLDIVERS 2 on your TL, that’s your cue to step up and fight for Democracy!
This is a $40 game, and it’s high quality; you’ve spent $70 on far lesser games!
STEP UP SOLDIER!!!
If you can’t stay off your phone during a movie, please just stay home and stream
You mfers who text and scroll social media at the movie theater are literally so annoying
ADHD isn’t an excuse for a lack of manners. Some of us still enjoy movies🖕
I really wish older games were more available and accessible. It’s insane that older games just fade into obscurity. There needs to be better preservation for the history of gaming. New games don’t always cut it for me. Sometimes I just wanna play something old.
It blows my mind that some of you don’t replay games. I can’t imagine not revisiting some of my all time favorites. It’s one of the easiest ways to get back in touch with who I am. Games hold memories for me that unlock powerful neural pathways back to my childhood.
Video games are so much better when you stop paying attention to what’s relevant and just play what your heart wants to play
A downside of social media is that so much gets forsaken in the name of relevancy. I don’t give af about what’s relevant. I go where my curiosity leads me
I’m really enjoying Starfield. This game is so relaxing to me.
I stayed away from it for so long, due to so many people saying it was bad. It’s difficult to take anyone’s opinion at face value anymore. I could see it not being for everyone, but i find it pretty charming so far.
I’ve tried to get into Tears Of The Kingdom multiple times, but I just do not click with it.
It feels messy and disorganized to me. Like a cake with too many ingredients to the point that it lacks any distinct flavor.
I enjoyed BOTW more; it seemed to have a stronger identity.
I avoided PC gaming for a long time because I thought it was stupid
It looked too complicated and time consuming, and every game seemed to require a deep well of knowledge to optimize
I can clearly say that I was just an idiot blinded by console bias
We can only experience games for the first time ONCE
The wrong headspace can ruin a great game. Timing is everything. Your mindset is a big part of enjoying games
You don’t have to play a game day one. Sometimes it’s better to put it on the back burner for the right headspace
I must admit, I couldn’t care less about Star Wars as of late.
But this game has made the simple joy of light swords and space magic feel fun again. It’s like Star Wars, Uncharted, and Dark Souls-lite had a baby
Enjoying it so much that I just picked up Jedi Survivor on sale.
I don’t always agree with SkillUp, but imo
He’s one of the better reviewers in the industry. He is pretty eloquent with his thoughts and he definitely knows his stuff
It’s kinda weird how people hate on reviews of games they haven’t even played yet. Reviews are subjective 🤷♂️
The ONLY reason I have ever bought a new platform is for games that I can only get on that platform. I’ve never purchased a console for any other reason. Exclusives sell consoles. Without exclusives what makes a console valuable? Games are the lifeblood of the console experience.
From Software’s understanding of building a mythology is what separates them from their peers. Miyazaki is similar to Tolkein, and his games are more akin to the Silmarillion than The Lord Of The Rings; worlds with histories that you only understand through observation and study.
The combat in SIFU might be some of my favorite of all time. It's like the Batman Arkham combat but on steroids. It's so damn satisfying to learn.
#SIFU
So basically... "We don't actually care about the art form itself... we care about creating games that will generate a lot of money, and bring in more subscribers to Game Pass. Tbh, we don't actually know what we're doing, we just know that we want to make more money doing it."
l like Starfield more than Fallout 4 and Skyrim
It has more engaging mechanics, better dialogue trees, a ship that feels like home, a more balanced economy, looting feels more enjoyable, weapons have more purpose, ect. I’m having a lot more fun with Starfield than FO4 and Skyrim
@CardySimon
It’s about holding these greedy corporations accountable
If people keep buying drivel, then drivel is what they get
It’s about setting higher standards for our money
It’s not just empty bitching
This is just stupid. Plain and simple $700 should get more than this
It kind of blows my mind that a lot of people don't know you can flip your gun in Red Dead Redemption 2 if you double tap the L1/LB. What good is a cowboy sim if you don't twirl your firearm every now and again?
A few things I’d like from Helldivers 2
-Server stability
-A vehicle that’s not super fast, but doesn’t rely on stamina
-A set of binoculars for recon
-A way to close your lobby so you can run solo, if you want
-A way to customize armor colors
Above all, server stability💥
Fuuuuck no
Don’t lie to impress a girl who will dump you once she discovers the real you
Be an irresistible gamer she can’t live without and tell her to deal with it or find someone else. She’ll get over it.. or she’ll find someone else. Either way, you’ll still have your games
The point of hobbies isn't to attract the opposite sex, you do you, whatever it is you find fun
But I don't think a lot of men fully internalize how women feel about video games
At the very least, leave it off your dating profile
I’m lvl 36 today, and boy do I feel it. I’m so over leveled my back hurts all the time, and I can’t even remember the main quest anymore. I run around doing side shit; met lots of cool NPCs in this place though, and i’m surprised I’ve actually made this far. Needs an easy mode.
Diablo 4 is a damn good video game
The atmosphere is incredible. There’s a weight to the world. The music is well done, the voice acting is dramatic and effective, the side quests feel meaningful and fun. I’m having a good time with it.
It’s a VERY good Hack ‘N’ Slash
When I hear the terms “outdated” and “needs modernized”, I think oh, so homogenized?
All games do not need to feel “modern”. Games need to feel fresh, and sometimes that can mean making old ideas new again. For instance, I’d love more “new” fixed camera horror games 🤷♂️
i refuse to write "outdated" in my reviews, because i don't know what that means for video games.
to me, if i play a game where the right analog stick doesn't control the camera, i wouldn't call it outdated. i would just learn the game and then play it that way, because that's
This game is 22 years old 🤯 It has definitely stood the test of time. One of the best video games ever made. Such a simple concept executed with passion and vision.
I swear to god, modern horror fans only act like these 5 horror movies exist
Hereditary
It Follows
The Witch
The Babadook
Midsommar
These 5 movies are like The Call of Duty and Fifa of Horror movies
Hate me, idc, they’re good, but branch out, damn!
Now that the dust has settled. What is your honest opinion of Starfield? It’s a game I have yet to play, but I’m very curious how people feel about it after having time to digest and process it.
How is professional video games journalism still a thing in 2024?
What does a “journalist” offer, that your friends on this app don’t? Modern “journalists” pretty much just regurgitate information that’s already available to you. So what really sets them apart?
Genuine question
I have never played the MAD MAX game and I'm so excited, because that was a pretty bad ass opening. I love Arkham style combat, and from what I've seen of this game I'm astonished that I never got around to playing it... until now!
Thoughts on this game?
What’s the most cerebral game you’ve ever played?
As in, a game that set your mind on fire with questions and a curiosity to dig deeper into a particular subject or idea
@mrpyo1
No!
I don’t have a backlog, i have a collection of experiences that i’ll get to when the time is right.
I will never say no to a good sale, as it’s better than paying full price when you finally get the urge to play it.
I’m amassing my own PERMANENT Game Pass 🥸
The Witcher 3 is a game that walks the line between realism and modern impressionism. When I say stuff like "style over realism", this is what I mean. The color palette is very distint. It feels like a video game, while also being absolutely stunning. This is art🤌
I honestly think graphics are as good as they ever need to be. Where I want to see true innovation is in game design. Give me interesting mechanics and gameplay fused with a creative art style.
I DON’T need every game to be a masterpiece to love it
I DO need it to be engaging and satisfying to play though, because being bored while playing a GAME is nonsense
I’m past the point of visuals and graphics being enough to carry a game; it NEEDS to have good core mechanics
I don’t think the problem is ever having nothing to play
The issue finding the right game to satisfy the mindset that you’re in
Sometimes all it takes is one game to put you in the mindset to see other games that have been there the whole time
It’s a journey of self discovery
Who are some people you trust when it comes to expressing their thoughts about video games?
People who really understand how to appreciate them, and have a vocab bigger than peak, mid and trash?
I love hearing people talk philosophically about their gaming experiences
Games are the most sophisticated art form I've ever experienced. Multi-layered experiences that pull from so many aspects of human expression, as we the player WILL an avatar through complex simulated realities that have the potential to inspire thought and emotion. Pretty neat.
Sea Shanties are my favorite collectable of all time. I love how they have practical use. There's nothing like a new song for your crew to sing while sailing the High Seas.
What's your favorite video game collectable of all time?
Sure, i’ll bite
I think Angela’s design looks weird. Like something you would see from a character creator in an RPG. Her old design is from 2001 and it looks astronomically better
But apparently holding this opinion is sexist? Am I gooner? I guess i’m gooner now 🥸😮💨
Got my new car today. Been stressed for a couple of weeks, but now I can finally breathe 😮💨
Went for a 2025 Honda HRV, simple but reliable 🤘
Never bought a new car before, pretty much driven beaters my whole life, so it felt good driving this home 😊
I love linear games every now and again. I like having a sense of progressing towards the next thing
Whether it be a boss fight, a set piece, a cool narrative beat, a new level, ect… open world games are awesome, but sometimes they feel like a chore, like unsatisfying busy work
Today is my 10 year Anniversary
To my best friend, I love you so much and I look forward to the rest of this life with you. Thank you for taking a chance on me, and giving me the strength and courage to become the man strong enough to be a husband and a father. Thank you 🙏 ❤️
BALTEUS is in-the-BAAAG BABY! LET'S GOOOO! What an incredible fight! My adrenaline is P-U-M-P-I-N-G! You guys weren't joking about this dude!😂😂😂
#ArmoredCoreVI
#Balteus
Had an awesome day with my wife. Had a sitter and were able to share some much needed quality time together. This is my best friend and she has been by my side through thick and thin. I owe this woman everything for seeing my value and giving me a chance. Together for 11 years 💞
‘The Witcher 3’ is still the best open world RPG i’ve ever played. It truly has it all. Amazing characters & voice acting, epic music with memorable melodies, complex combat, varied skill tree, meaningful weapons and armor, incredible lore & monster designs & epic side quests!
You ever try to avoid becoming like your parents and then realize you’re kinda like your parents, but in your own way?
I’m not exactly like them, but there are aspects about myself I wish I had more control over 😮💨
I’m not a Democrat or a Republican
I’m a fed up American that’s tired of the political shenanigans
Neither party understands the nuance and complexities of life
It’s a sport where victory has become about humiliating your opponents rather than fairly outplaying them
I left X for a year, cleared my head and re-discovered myself. What I found was that I enjoyed everything MORE!
Coming BACK to X, I realized that I missed this place! AND I’m still enjoying everything!
The problem was not X! The problem was me. DO NOT let people steal your joy!
Perhaps a controversial take, but anyone responsible for having a hand in this sort “law making” should be exiled from planet earth
This is absolutely barbaric and disgusting, and i’m not remotely sorry if this offends literally anyone. Go fuck yourselves.
Played some Titanfall 2 multiplayer yesterday and had almost no wait time between matches. Steam DB shows a daily peak of 10k players, which is more than enough to keep the games flowing.
Still one of the best multiplayer games. It’s amazing how gorgeous and fluid it still is.
Once again just completely absorbed in this game. It blows my mind that it released in 2015. Still has some of the most magnificent sunsets, especially paired with it's soundtrack. I fkn love video games 😭
Trigger me in 6 words or less.
“Games are meant to be fun”
“fun” is a subjective term and what is fun to you, might not be fun to me. Games can be a lot more than just “fun.” I think games are meant to be ENGAGING, because if I’m engaged… i’m being entertained.
Helldivers 2 was one of the best weekends of gaming I’ve had since the old Halo LAN party days.
I was definitely annoyed by the server issues. But once I got in, I was In all night. The sheer joy of blowing stuff up with your buddies is straight up dopamine.
I like a good snow level in video games. I love it when snow dynamically shifts under your feet with crunchy sound effects. I also enjoy the contrast of blood being on snow. It’s just a cool aesthetic imo.
What are your favorite snow levels?
