I say this without a hint of exaggeration : Watching Trevor Francis play for Blues at the peak of his powers was an absolute privilege. The No 8 on his back, the rockstar hair, the electric pace, dribbling, crossing, finishing, left foot, right foot. He could it it all.

I will raise a glass for my bapou (grandad) tonight. He volunteered to join the Cypriot regiment during WW2 to help the British forces. He was captured by the Nazis but survived to tell the tale. Kept his medals in an old shoe box and would shun talk of heroism.
