Heads up history lovers! My new biography of Dr. Archibald Menzies (1754-1842) is being released in the UK🇬🇧 next month (and in North America🇨🇦🇺🇸 next February). Ask for it at your local bookstore or order online!
Bizarre: He came to Canada in 1997. Used a false passport. His refugee claim was rejected, but 11 days after that, he married a woman who sponsored him for immigration. That, too, was rejected. Trudeau referred to him as a Canadian in the House of Commons.
The first warning that Canada was becoming an unserious country was when it elected a Prime Minister whose principal qualification for the role was the fact that his dad once had the job. No one should be surprised by the situation Canada finds itself in today.
The governor general’s annual salary is $342,100. And a lifetime pension of $150,000 annually. And a retirement expense account of $200,000 annually. You’d think they could buy their own shoes.
The really funny part is that the “Duke and Duchess” are being held up as hero’s for fighting the a “power structure” while also defiantly clinging to their royal titles and demanding titles for their children.
It's breathtaking how tolerant Canadians are of their current Prime Minister. In any other G7 country, he would have resigned ages ago. In the USA, they would have impeached Trudeau by now. The Trudeau cover-up is far more serious than Nixon's Watergate cover-up ever was.
"It is Justin Trudeau that has put Mr. Johnston in this terrible situation: by naming a member of the China-financed Trudeau Foundation to perform this role," Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre says when asked about his reaction to PM's special rapporteur selection.

"If you ever get threatened again, answer the call."
Jim was 19 years old when he landed at Juno Beach. He knew he could die. But he knew it was worth it. Freedom is worth it.
“A sitting prime minister accepting a gift of more than $80,000 in cash would certainly look suspicious and raise serious ethical questions. Accepting the non-cash equivalent should be no different.” 🎯
He will not invest a billion. He will spend a billion. And not on food for kids, but on “the creation of a program” for bureaucrats to mismanage. It’s one clusterbuck after another. Convert all your cash to gold or USD while it still has any value.
“We all want kids to have the best start in life, including the most vulnerable,” says Prime Minister Justin Trudeau as he discusses the federal government’s plan to invest $1 billion in the creation of a national school food program.

Rule of thumb: if you’re taking your kid on a diplomatic mission, buy them proper shoes and a tie. Failure to do so is disrespectful to your hosts (sends the message that this is a family vacation).
"it’s impossible to reach any other conclusion other than that we, as a country, are in deep trouble, and that our government is basically fine with that."😬
So, if I understand his resignation statement correctly, the Prime Minister's Principal Secretary has resigned because he did nothing wrong; and the PM has accepted his resignation despite the fact he did nothing wrong.
What is perhaps most notable about this is that he warned about the policies proposed by the Trudeau Liberals without suggesting they were mean, cruel, mad, cold-hearted, stupid, or any of the other sort of characterizations that are commonly used by the current government today.
Nine years later and we have exactly what Prime Minister Stephen Harper predicted. The more this Liberal government has spent, the worse things have gotten for Canadians.
We cannot afford a government that thinks that budgets balance themselves. It's time for common sense.
Overheard: “Privilege isn’t just being white and from a wealthy family; it’s being the only guy in the country who can wear black face, still keep his job and think that’s just fine.”
You work hard all your life and a government led by a nepo baby swoops in to tell you to pay more tax so they can redistribute it to their friends. Then they gaslight you by saying it’s for “generational fairness”.
Garneau: “certain ministers had closer access to Trudeau, like childhood friends.” “The prime minister's aloofness led me to conclude that he did not consider my advice useful enough to want to hear from me directly, relying instead on his staff,”
This is just flabbergasting. Imagine for a moment this was playing out in the UK or USA with leaked reports from MI6 or the CSI about foreign interference in their elections. It would be jaw-droppingly sensational. Canadians should be demanding action / arrests / expulsions.
Canada-China:

Tragically pathetic. A leader unable to deal with a global crisis because his moral compass is so tethered to winning (and keeping) power that he is adrift in ambiguity and paralyzed by indecision.
“the Duke and Duchess will receive the award after having the courage to challenge the Royal family’s “power structure”. She said the couple had been “heroic” by standing up against such an ancient institution.” 😂

Not a good look for Justin Trudeau. I mean, if you want people to think you've got something to hide from the police and / or the public, this is the way to do it.
Ten years ago, Justin Trudeau kicked two MPs out of Liberal Party caucus because allegations had been made against them. Today, allegations have been made again. The only difference is that this time it’s treason, not sex. Why won’t he act?
@JanaEsso
The Prime Minister says he was a citizen so I guess he was. But even so, that’s a whole other story … how many other people entering Canada with fake passports are now citizens? Are they on assassins’ hit lists too? Should we prepare for more murders on the streets?
@TPostMillennial
EARNEST CHILD: "We should cut everything from them [the unvaccinated] little by little until they submit."
GLEEFUL HOST: "It looks like we've got some future politicians here!"
Having annoyed China, India, the Five-Eyes, NATO, and denied Germany any gas, 🇨🇦 now has a special poke in the eye for 🇬🇧. It's hard to handle so much winning.🙃
Imagine a sitting 🇺🇸 President coming to 🇨🇦 during a federal election and advocating for any particular kind of domestic Canadian public policy initiative whatsoever. People would be outraged screaming“foreign interference!”. PMJT simply doesn’t get it. Major diplomatic faux pas.
@PremierScottMoe
@MarkyDeSuede
Many would rather see the Provinces taken out of Confederation. If the federal Minister wants to throw some fuel on Western Separation, he’s off to a good start.
First no one knew why the ship was in Cuba, then we were told it was sent there to "display naval capability". Now we're told it's all top secret. No one's in charge, and they're just making stuff up.

Loyalty to the Leader is a great thing, especially in politics. But the degree to which members of the LPC stand behind Trudeau is really amazing. Someone should do an academic paper on it. Any other Party in any other democracy would have turfed him by now.

@sunlorrie
He was embarrassed on home turf and overreacted; he let his inner tyrant get the better of himself then, after bullying his caucus to support his actions, bailed out at the last minute. Now he is hoping everything will just go away (as have so many other past transgressions).
What strange times we live in where national politicians refuse to answer legitimate questions based on media affiliation. Is there a master list of approved media somewhere?
I hope David Johnston takes
@kinsellawarren
’s advice and walks away from the crummy made-up “Rapporteur” gig that Trudeau hung on his reputation. I doubt he will. But he should.
10,000 people were in Ottawa today to show support for Jewish Canadians and our ally Israel as it fights the gravest evil since WW2 and the Prime Ministers' tweets today are about: Gavin Newsom, Myles Goodwyn, Homebuilding, and Mental Health. WTF?😵💫

Of course you’ve taken Hamas’ version of events at face value. Despite knowing they’re propagandists. Because why would you wait until the facts are in when you can pounce on the opportunity to blame Jews? Shame on you.
After nine years in power, Liberal MPs have moved on from a cheerful assertion that "Canada is back!" to a haughty cry that "things are worse elsewhere, so stop complaining you ungrateful dweebs".😂

Take a look around the planet. Yes, things are tough for some in Canada, but most of the world would love to trade their troubles for ours.
Something's wrong when the UK can prosecute 70 year old veterans, and Canada can pursue a vice admiral with vengeance, but neither seem able to charge ISIS fighters.

They are supposed to be independent but they are all hard core left wing.

Everything they don't like is 'misinformation'.
"In just the last year, Liberal MPs have uttered the word “misinformation” in the House of Commons or in Parliamentary committees no less than 278 times."
Poilievre is right to push for a full public enquiry ... because David Johnston is not the Prime Minister, has no authority, and whatever he recommends is merely a recommendation (not an edict).
"We need a full public inquiry to get to the bottom of Beijing's interference in our democracy. And that's what I will deliver when I am prime minister," Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre vows as he reacts to David Johnston's recommendation against holding inquiry.

Canada has never had a minority government with more disdain for the majority of voters, and the privileged position the electoral system has handed them, than this one. The arrogance and hubris is off the charts. Gobsmakingly shameless.
