If Arsenal can't take Mkhitaryan to Baku for the Europa League final then the only fair solution is for Chelsea to have leave one of their players in England.
I nominate Eden Hazard.
With 5 games to go, Arsenal haven't had a player sent off this season. If they can avoid a red card in those remaining games it will be the first time this has happened since 1989-90.
Congratulations to The
@Arsenal
Football Club. Guaranteed 100 consecutive years in the top flight of English football. The first team to achieve this feat.
Arsenal only need a draw against Stoke tomorrow to guarantee their place in the Premier League next season. If that happens, they will be the first English club to have been in the top flight for 100 consecutive years.
100 years ago today
@Arsenal
, along with Chelsea, were elected to the First Division of the Football League. Today they become the first football team ever to celebrate 100 years of continued membership of the top flight.
Pray thanks to Sir Henry Norris & Jimmy Catton

Arsenal's recent form with Martin Atkinson refereeing.
He sent off Granit Xhaka v Manchester City and Thomas Partey v Liverpool. He's not sent off an Arsenal opponent in the last 24 Arsenal games he's been in charge of.
So, I watched

yesterday. It seemed to me that he was trying so hard to be offensive that he forgot he was also supposed to be funny.
I've been around the block and can take anything as long as it's funny.

1. City weren't formed before Arsenal.
2. The whole of that Man City team that won that 1904 FA Cup, the manager & directors were subsequently banned by the FA.
On this day in 1886 the members of Dial Square Cricket Club held a smoking concert. During this event it was decided to form a football team. Dial Square Football Club would eventually become the club now known as The Arsenal.
Happy Birthday

Just a reminder that what Manchester City are being investigated for is not the same as what Everton have been found guilty of.
Manchester City are being investigated for financial irregularities, effectively hiding financial information from the PL.

A couple of people have asked about unused substitutes for Arsenal, especially regarding Matt Smith and if he has been an unused sub the most times for Arsenal without playing a first team game.
I've now totted them all up and have the figures for your delectation. 1/7
In 1988-89 Arsenal beat Newcastle 1-0 home & away, and Middlesbrough 1-0 away. Both of those teams were relegated at the end of the season.
You might want to go and check where Arsenal finished that season as I very much doubt that you know.

Aah, someone who doesn't know the meaning of the word "franchise" nor enough about football history to know the meaning of "original".

Arsenal joined the League in 1893, Norris didn't become involved with Arsenal until 1910. How did he bribe Arsenal into the League 17 years before he became involved with them? Did he have a TARDIS?
After yesterday's game, Sky showed Arsenal's upcoming fixtures and said we've got a hard run coming with absolutely no sense of irony that our opponents have got to play the team that is 7 points clear at the top.
OK, so I looked at the IFAB Laws of the Game and these are the only mentions of goals being celebrated. Nothing in the Laws about excessive celebrating by managers. The FA are just making it up.
We've been recognising "heritage numbers" at Arsenal for years.

We lead, they follow.
This is far more serious than breaching FFP. Historically, this has seen clubs relegated or even expelled from the League. It has also seen directors banned from the game.
Pretty much every club investigated by the FA, EFL or PL for this has been found guilty. 2/2
I'm no royalist but...
Prince Harry served his country for 10 years and did two tours of Afghanistan.
What did Piers Morgan do for his country when they were at war?
He can keep his trap shut.
I really couldn't give a toss if we win the next 8 league games 1-0, with only 20% possession and each goal going on off Kai Havertz's arse after pinballing around in the opponents' penalty area.
The neutrals can stick their beautiful game where the sun don't shine.

played their first ever home game, on Plumstead Common. This was also their first game after changing their name from Dial Square.
They beat local rivals Erith 6-1 who were playing their first ever game.
No other details of the game have been found.
In the recent programme for the Arsenal v Chelsea game Thierry Henry reminisced about the Invincible season. He had this to say about the run up to the game at White Hart Lane.
That final sentence 😂😂😂
One of the things of being a football fan is taking great delight in your rivals being beaten and really taking the piss, no matter how bad your team is doing. If you haven't got that level of partisanship, do you really support your team?
In early 1990 London Underground started rolling out digital signage on its platforms.
@GoonerFanzine
didn't waste any time making it (fairly) topical.
Todd Boehly has asked the Premier League if
the three goals Chelsea conceded today can be amortised across their next three games so they actually won today's game.
I've looked through all of the replies. I can't find any that are anti-Semitic or homophobic. One person called him a c**t, which is standard fare on twitter. Surely a Daily Mail journalist wouldn't say something that wasn't true?
Re this: I picked a team. Arsenal won. I look a bit silly. Congrats to Arsenal. But since they tweeted it to 12m people, I've had all-day harassment on here, including anti-Semitic, homophobic abuse & people wishing me dead. I can handle it but would not advise clubs repeat this.

@rickygervais
Some of it was funny, I'll admit that I laughed out loud a few times but a fair chunk of it was lazy, out of date and had me thinking "I don't get it".
Can you explain the "spitting in the handicapped kid's face" joke? What was the actual joke?
For those of us who remember football before 1992...
Wright scored his first 20 league goals in 28 games.
Ted Drake did it 21 games.
Ronnie Rooke did it in 20 games.
Happy birthday to George Graham, the man who restored Arsenal's pride.
Also, the only man to win a league title, FA Cup, League Cup and European trophy as both a player and manager.
With 5 games to go, Arsenal haven't had a player sent off this season. If they can avoid a red card in those remaining games it will be the first time this has happened since 1989-90.
@WeareManC1ty
The story of bribery in 1919 was fabricated in 1969 by a Tottenham-supporting journalist which has been parroted since without any evidence.
Telling the same lie over and over again will never make it true.
On 13 October 1919, Leeds City were expelled from the Football League and, shortly after, dissolved.
Their crime? The directors refused to allow the Football Association from inspecting their financial records after it was suspected they had illegally paid their players.
An update on the story of David Danskin's grave being found.
Arsenal FC are fully aware of the situation and are in talks with the people in Coventry, and David's descendants whose wishes are paramount.
Once I hear more, I'll let you know.
RIP Paul Mariner. A proper old school centre-forward (and emergency centre-half!). Revitalised Arsenal at the end of 1983-84 and was part of great attacking team at the start of 1984-85.
At this stage last season Arsenal were:
5th in the Premier League
Had qualified for the Europa League with one game left
Were in the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup
Not knocking Unai Emery in any way, just putting a bit of perspective on things.
The most famous match between
@Arsenal
and
@BrentfordFC
was played on 6 May 1939.
The game was filmed and footage was used in The Arsenal Stadium Mystery.
Sorry to have heard that Terry Neill has passed away aged 80. Arsenal's youngest ever captain who went on to manage the team and took them to four cup finals in three seasons. RIP Terry.
Arsenal have scored 88 PL goals this season, equaling their best ever in the PL (2022-23). The last time they scored more in a season was 90 in 1963-64
Seeing as it's that time for that lot up the road to start whining about how hard done by they were over 100 years ago (when we really know they weren't), I thought I'd write a thread (on X!) about how grateful Tottenham Hotspur fans should be to Arsenal AND Henry Norris. 1/12
All you supposed ITKs that are saying that Arsenal did a U-turn or that Arteta turned down Arsenal, do you really think that that happened and Arsenal then panicked and did a deal with Emery within a couple of hours?
Fantasists, the lot of you.
We received a 1⭐ review on Amazon for Arsenal: The Complete Record.
However, looking at Stuart's other reviews I can only surmise that the book's hefty size makes it difficult to get a good swing on it.
If the name of the person at Arsenal that tweeted the Mesut Ozil gif ever gets out, they will never have to pay to get drunk ever again.

Arsenal have had three company secretaries since 1956:
Bob Wall (1956 - 1972)
Ken Friar (1972 - 1997)
David Miles (1997 - 2021)
Between them they have 166 years of association with Arsenal:
Wall - 46 years
Friar - 70 years
Miles - 50 years
