If interested in the Anglican Way, go back to the sources. Read Hooker, Jewel, Cranmer, Donne, Taylor, Waterland, Latimer, Andrewes, Cosin, Tyndale, Hooper, Ridley, Ken, Hall, Ussher, Beveridge, etc. Find a beautiful tradition forged in conflict, ready for the challenges of today
Elsie has gone to be with her Lord and Savior; our love for her is everlasting and our comfort is found in the sure and certain hope of the resurrection. God bless you all for your prayers.
Asking your prayers today for our baby Elsie who remains hospitalized (now four months). She is experiencing a mysterious breathing problem, had a seizure today, and has a strange mass on her rib. So glad her Mom is there with her, but again, we would love your prayers.
The funeral for Elsie Tarsitano will be held at Trinity Anglican Church on February 17th at 1:00 p.m. with graveside to follow and a 3:00 p.m. reception at the Haven (901 Meyer AVE).
'I know that my Redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth.'
Prayers would be appreciated for our daughter Madeline. She has just been diagnosed with an extremely rare auto-immune disease which attacks healthy bones (CRMO). She is being a real trooper, but this news will definitely affect her life going forward. Thank you in advance for
@eccenunc
I was once in a zoom meeting which was mercifully reaching its 40 minute cap when those monsters gave us a free upgrade to unlimited...I screamed, but no one could here me because both my voice and soul were muted.
During a hospital visit today the dear, bedridden saint couldn't remember my name or her husband's, but she could remember the responses for the 1928 Holy Communion service she has said her whole life. In a world of great arguments for not changing liturgy, this one might be tops
God bless you all for your prayers and love and support. A friend set this fundraiser up for us, and we will use the proceeds for Elsie's funeral and a Lord's Table built in her honor.
Having buried loved ones hearing the same holy words of the KJV Bible and 1662 Prayer Book, one better understands the real communion common prayer creates among a people; the families of Queens and Ditch-diggers hear the same hope of the resurrection: of a world without end.
Worship would be a 1000x more faithful and edifying if people believed the Book of Common Prayer when it tells us our worship is a "sacrifice of praise and thanksgiving" rather than an aesthetically pleasing experience designed to make us feel better about our place in modernity.
Our much anticipated Lord's Table is complete. It is based on a 17th century design and was handmade by a loyal member of the mission from hard maple. We are incredibly blessed.
My daughter had a profound thought today while her mother was going over the Book of Common Prayer's catechism with her: 'Usually kids ask questions and adults give the answer, but in the catechism, adults ask the questions and kids give the answers.' She really liked that idea.
At this time we still do not have power at the church. Sunday School for tomorrow is canceled but we will have worship at 10:30am. Bring a flashlight or lantern and dress accordingly. We hope to see you there.
A big day for my family and I as we were officially welcomed into the Reformed Episcopal Church. Adversity may have brought us here, but the hand of providence has moved us to a loving, supportive home. God bless all those who have prayed for us and may God bless the Anglican Way
Defend, O Lord, this thy child with thy heavenly grace, that she may continue thine for ever, and daily increase in thy Holy Spirit more and more until she come unto thy everlasting kingdom. Amen.

Just thinking about how many saints are going to be trained for the royal priesthood through these works of lively faith and true devotion. It is a great time to be an Anglican.
Thank you for all of your prayers; Elsie's surgery well. She now has a tap installed in her head whereby they can slowly drain out the excess fluid. Eventually, they will install a permanent shunt, so we are in for a long stay. The nurses turned her head covering into cat ears.
Our church is the only church in town which is open for prayer during the day. We live next door and monitor the sanctuary via baby monitor (very high-tech), and I can't tell you how wonderful it is to see people enter our holy space and pray to the living God. Today, however, I
We were blessed to add five more catechumens this month to go along with the fourteen from last month. It is quite exciting to see the community respond to God's Word and Sacrament offered through the traditional Anglican Way.
Thank you so much for the prayers and support (keep the prayers coming please). Here is a new picture of Elsie from today. She still has the tap reservoir, but she is looking so much better.
@NeillBryant2
set this up for us when this struggle all began four months ago, and I didn't share it then, but we would appreciate any help as we face another, long unexpected stay in Indianapolis.
Had a beautiful day of praying the Bible through the prayer book: Morning Prayer, Litany, and Evening Prayer with catechism. There are Sundays where I just cannot believe how blessed we are to be Anglicans.
We had a good night with no seizures. Doctors are still trying to determine the cause, so please pray for their work and for Elsie's continued strengthening.
We are blessed to have Morning and Evening Prayer six days a week at Trinity, and I am often joined by one or two or three saints who may not have any idea what is going on but know, as they hear the ancient prayers, that they are in a place of peace and holiness. No 'church
A Prayer of Saint Chrysostom.
ALMIGHTY God, who hast given us grace at this time with one accord to make our common supplications unto thee; and dost promise that when two or three are gathered together in thy Name thou wilt grant their requests...
DOST thou renounce the devil and all his works, the vain pomp and glory of the world, with all covetous desires of the same, and the carnal desires of the flesh, so that thou wilt not follow nor be led by them? I renounce them all.
There is a valid critique of certain evangelical Anglicans who often have read no Anglican other than Packer and Stott; however, the same critique holds for Anglicans who have read only a handful of 20th century Anglo-Catholics and fill in the blanks with Roman Catholic authors.
I love this picture of an Anglican wedding during WWII. Transcendent beauty and august simplicity as the loyal companion of eternal love and the antidote to the red plague of war.
We just began handing this great book out to our guests on Sunday, along with a 1662 Book of Common Prayer: International Edition, and a guest read it on Monday and decided to join the church on Tuesday! As a missionary, I really can't say how grateful I am to have this text.
If one is speaking about the Anglican Way, please stop saying, "There really aren't any Anglican systematic theological texts." Just because one hasn't read any Anglican systematic theologies does not mean they don't exist and aren't readily available.
Our mission is loving this new publication. Moving forward, we will be giving every guest a copy of the 1662 Book of Common Prayer: International Edition and this excellent new guide on how to use it. The radicalization of our little town towards 'decency and order' continues.
When I tell people that our mission, following the rubrics of the 1662 BCP, says the Lord's Prayer four times on a Holy Communion Sunday, they tend to express surprise, but the old argument was that a person focused on a different clause for each recitation and that it also
Five sources for learning more about Anglican eucharistic theology:
1. Richard Hooker
This edition is in modern English and here, or in the wonderful original, it beautifully illustrates the main Anglican position.
2. Thomas Cranmer

Happy Michaelmas! We celebrated with a parish feast and topped off with our annual desserts: earl grey cake with honey whipped cream and fresh blackberry preserves and some devils food donuts for the kids to “slay.” (Hugh is demonstrating the slaying.)
The cake was even more fun
Happy Ascension Day!
Grant, we beseech thee, almighty God, that like as we do believe thy only-begotten Son our Lord Jesus Christ to have ascended into the heavens, so we may also in heart and mind thither ascend, and with him continually dwell, who liveth and reigneth with thee
Another seizure last night, but she has been stable. They are pretty sure some mysterious infection is causing all of this, so please pray they find it and that Elsie will tolerate the treatment.
We just received our beautiful service book edition of the

for putting this awesome edition together. Here is to many years of faithful service to the glory of God.
A powerful recommendation for the Anglican Way is its ability to thrive even in the worst conditions. Heathens bomb your church? Simply clear away some of the rubble, preach the Word, administer the Sacraments, and repeat until Christ returns.
Our youngest hasn’t improved but my 16yr old forced me out the door, assuring me that she would take good care of her. I raced there and raced home but was able to witness my sweet girl, with happy tears in her eyes, be reminded of His great goodness in her life. Thanks be to God
Elsie just got back to her room and the surgeons and other doctors are very happy with how the surgery went and have said she can resume feeds immediately.
Thank you so very much for all your prayers today and for the coming days as they ensure the shunt is operating properly.
No seizures today, but we are trying to balance the medication to suppress seizures with the low blood pressure that can bring. Please keep us all in your prayers.
1. The 79 Episcopal prayer book's vandalism of the Advent collects is nuts. Moving the 'Stir Up Sunday' collect to Advent III to then jettison the incredible Cranmerian Advent II collect exhorting us to read and study the Bible (the joke writes itself here) was a heck of a choice
The second of our four baptisms planned for the end of the year. Please keep Evelyn, her parents, and her Godparents in your prayers today.

As a Continuing Anglican, I send encouragement to my brothers and sisters in the ACNA manfully standing against grave error. I daily pray we will one day be united, either by the victory of light and truth in your own jurisdiction or by finding respite together in the Continuum.
Ok, one of you saints has sent me a 3 volume copy of D'oyly and Mant's Anglican Family Study Bible (1817). And now I'm shotgunning YouTube videos with titles like "typesetting for dummies" to try and figure out some way to get this gem into every Anglican home.
Have now heard of two talented young men this week joining the Anglican Way through the Reformed Episcopal Church and the ADLW. It's a great time to fly the anchor! ⚓️ ⚓️⚓️⚓️⚓️⚓️
God bless you all for your prayers and love and support. A friend set this fundraiser up for us, and we will use the proceeds for Elsie's funeral and a Lord's Table built in her honor.
The wood has been procured for our new Lord's Table (the original table was taken when the building was abandoned for several years). A talented member of the mission is preparing it, and it will keep the tradition alive of all the church's major furniture being made by members.
There is a certain kind of religiously progressive Anglo-Catholic who thinks the Holy Spirit speaks authoritatively through His church and in history for the express purpose of contradicting the parts of the 39 Articles the progressive A/C doesn't like. Couldn't be me.
This is great news for the

will be a real asset to the Diocese of Mid-America, and it is quite exciting to see our Cuban brothers and sisters receive episcopal oversight and pastoral care.
The College of Bishops consented today to the election of three new bishops. Each bishop-elect will serve as a suffragan bishop for his diocese.
Read about the bishops-elect here:
If you have ever wanted to understand the Anglican doctrine of the eucharist, do yourself a favor and pick up this new modernization of Richard Hooker's work on the subject. The original was required reading for hundreds of years, and this volume is a great place to begin reading
We are blessed to be able to keep the church open during the day (I observe the sanctuary from the vicarage office through a repurposed baby monitor), and this lovely woman entered in the middle of the day just to sing hymns. Her voice was beautiful, and it was a lovely
A cool mural depicting the consecration of William Thomas Manning (1866-1949), tenth Bishop of New York at the Cathedral of St John the Divine, New York City. I'm pretty sure that is Bp. Daniel Tuttle (a truly fascinating figure) in the center as he was presiding bishop in 1921.
I hear this all the time from people seeking my counsel on divorce, and when I push back at all (by drawing the obvious conclusions from the cross and how the apostles apply that event in their moral exhortations) they look at me like I have three heads.
A lot of the American evangelical theology of divorce & marriage (such as it is) is driven by the fact that, for them, God’s greatest desire for you is your own self fulfillment and actualization.
My lovely wife convinced me to take our first vacation since starting the mission in Connersville, and we had a lovely week on Lake Saratoga (my first time back on the water since leaving the Navy) and at the Baseball Hall of Fame.
Thank you everyone for your prayers. We were facing the loss of my Mom and an emergency c-section in the same day, and by nothing short of a miracle, we were spared from both. God bless you all.
People sometimes ask me to recommend an Anglican systematic theology, and there are a number of good options, but James Ussher's A Body of Divinity is a great place to start and is now on sale for only $20:
Some people have asked to see our place-holder 1662:IE altar service book, so here are some pictures. We used the free printouts from the IVP page with card stock and a self-adhesive scrap book album. Links below
