The Hyper Beam animation from GSC is just built different. The sound itself was carried over from RBYG, disappeared for a bit, and then came back in gen 6. The shaking negative screen even gave me goosebumps as a kid. Always loved how powerful I felt using the move back then

For those of you complaining about the EXP share tells me you haven't played any other JRPG besides Pokémon. Before you pick up BDSP, maybe culture yourselves with Octopath Traveler, Bravely Default, Ni no Kuni, or even FF. This is nothing new, Pokemon is just playing catch up
