At midnight, just 5 hours before the storm started, almost all the data had 1-4" of snow with one outlier with 7" ....They were ALL WRONG.

We are near the bottom of the barrel when it comes to minimum daylight for the year. We only lose another 17 seconds by Winter Solstice before we start gaining light again!

Talk is starting about a system next week that could bring some snow to Wisconsin...OR could not! It is still a long ways out and we have seen differences in the future track of the storm. Could we see rain? Heavy snow? No snow at all? These are all possibilities, stay tuned!

Snowfall intensity is beginning to weaken but my goodness look at how fast the snow has accumulated in just the last few hours! Over or near a foot reports in several areas! This storm could possibly end up as the biggest snow storm of the season for Green Bay.

Step outside this afternoon and one thing you might notice is how nice and dry the air is! It was only a few days ago that we had dew points in the mid 70s, similar conditions to the tropics.

Well, it appears we won't be seeing a snow storm on New Years Day. Some accumulation is possible over the far south Fox Valley and lakeshore. The greatest amount of snow will fall south of Milwaukee with Northern Illinois as the center point.

Well....Here is the latest from what we are seeing. Highest totals will likely occur north of Hwy 10 since sleet mixing in will keep totals lower further south. 40 mph wind gusts will cause dangerous travel conditions Wed night into Thurs morning. 12+" expected in some areas.

It's been a busy spring across parts of Wisconsin with 37 tornado warnings issued just in Southeast Wisconsin alone. We have seen more tornado warnings than parts of the Plains!

We have some pockets of moderate and heavy snow moving through this morning, we have several more hours of snow to go until 1-2 PM. Another heavy snow band is currently in Iowa and will arrive here after 7-8 AM

A winter weather Advisory has been issued for tonight. A quick moving band of snow will bring a minor amount of accumulation but with the light fluffy texture of the snow combined with the breezy winds, road conditions will deteriorate tonight with blowing and drifting.

It wasn't a lot....BUT it was the 2nd largest snowfall of the season...Yes you read that right. A mere 1.6 inches is second place. I think we have a good chance in knocking out first place though early next week!

We are getting a first look this morning on satellite imagery which shows the area that saw snowfall yesterday. It is a narrow band that had a width of roughly 50 miles and tracks from eastern Iowa into East Central Wisconsin.

After a beautiful Saturday, Sunday is going to be quite different with showers and thunderstorms moving into SE WI. After the first round in the morning to early afternoon, a few pop up showers and storms could redevelop later in the evening if we get some clearing.

A 9th tornado was added to the June 15th severe weather outbreak. An EF-1 tornado with estimated winds at 90 mph had a length of 3.1 miles and tracked just north of the town of Manawa.

Good news if you're over the snow! The storm system has shifted south and any accumulating snowfall should stay out of our area now. There could be a few snow flakes in Southern parts of our area, but no need to panic.

Thunderstorms in February? I had to go digging to see when we saw that last time and I can tell you, it's not often! 9 years ago we had thunderstorms reported after 5pm on Februrary 20th 2014.

A severe thunderstorm watch has been issued for all of SE WI until Midnight. The greatest risk will be large hail and damaging winds, however, a tornado can't be completely ruled out. We will monitor how these storms look as they move into our area.

So much for that one day of winter....Temperatures were 25 degrees warmer today to wrap up the weekend. We flipped seasons overnight and we keep with this trend through Tuesday before another brief drop in temps arrives on Wednesday.

It is not often that we see freezing fog advisories in Southeastern Wisconsin. The last time one was issued was over 4 years ago in December of 2019 for four counties.

The NWS released their findings on the tornadic storms last weekend. Three tornadoes touched down in NE Wisconsin all being EF-0. Note: A waterspout over an ocean or Great Lakes is not reported as a tornado, however, over a small inland lake, it is recorded as a tornado.

Some messy weather is heading this way! Winter weather advisories are under effect until tomorrow for a long duration event that includes rain and snow. Temperatures will be near to above freezing for most of the storm so snowfall will be very wet and heavy.

Snow on Mother's Day is very rare, only 2 other years had measurable snow. Tomorrow will be the third! Winter weather advisories are issued from midnight to 8am northwest of the Fox Valley where 1-3 inches will fall. Most accumulation will be on grass and elevated surface.

Tomorrow begins the first day of meteorological summer! The official start does not happen until June 20 however meteorological seasons start on the first for easier record keeping. Our normal high goes from 72 to 81 over the next 30 days.

Snowfall totals are coming in between 8-12 inches across much of Northeast Wisconsin. We will pick up another 0.5-3 inches today as this final wave moves in this morning. Highest totals will occur north of Highway 29. Most of the snow will come to an end this afternoon.

We have increased the snowfall amounts a touch and added totals for the lake. With a east wind through most of the event, lakeside areas will see temperatures in the mid 30s, which will decrease snowfall totals. A rain/snow mix is also possible at times.

The precipitation type will all depend on where you live. If you live closer to the lake or to the south, a wintry mix will occur first, followed by snow. Elsewhere, snowfall will be the primary type.

The SPC (Storm Prediction Center) has upgraded the stateline to a level 4 of 5 for severe storms. A severe thunderstorm watch has been issued just to our west until 11 PM. We will see how the storms in Iowa play out over the next few hours as they move into SE WI.

A new line of thunderstorms are rapidly developing from Clintonville to Princeton. Additional storms downstate are under severe thunderstorm warnings. We will monitor those storms to see if they have any impacts in our area.

We had another warm day in Southeastern Wisconsin for this Christmas Day! Highs got back into the lower 50s. This is only the 2nd time 50 degree highs or greater were seen in Milwaukee for both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day!

Storm spotters reported a tornado touchdown. They were located at Skeleton bridge near Highway 45 looking Northwestward. The tornado was reported at 5:03 PM.

There is the potential of seeing Northern Lights tomorrow. It looks like the strongest part of the storm will occur during daylight and weaken once the sun sets. Remember to look north and get away from any light pollution to give the best chance at viewing them.

Some heavy rain came down in some areas this evening with rainfall totals over three inches in Beaver Dam! Close to that was in New Berlin. Most of the storms are now moving over Lake Michigan with a lot calmer weather returning overnight.

Winter weather is ongoing to our west. As this system arrives tomorrow over our area, very little moisture will be left. Some pockets of snow will accumulate on non-pavement surfaces, but I guarantee you won't need to shovel this time around.

A storm in the Pacific has the potential to give us snow Wednesday in time for Christmas. Where the storm will produce its snowfall remains the question. It looks like somewhere in the Midwest will see it, but right now we don't have any definitive answers. More updates to come!

The snowfall forecast up to early this morning still had the heaviest snow remaining to the southeast of the Fox Valley. Clearly that did not happen. It was a narrow but heavy band of snow over high populous areas that made an impact across much of the I-41 corridor today.

This upcoming weekend storm still has some play in it. A small shift in the track can make some big implications. One of the computer models runs did that this morning. Look between the two runs and see how NE WI is now impacted. Not set in stone but something to monitor.

Looks like we have some accumulating snow on Sunday from a quick moving clipper. Around 1-3 inches of snow are possible over our area. Lower totals are expected south of Highway 10.

A tornado touched down in S.E. Green Bay and moved southeast into the town of Bellevue Wednesday evening. It was EF-0, winds of 85 mph. The path length was just over six miles. The last tornado to hit the city of Green Bay itself was June 23, 2004.
