When I’m cycling in the lanes near home I often see a gentleman picking up litter Yesterday I asked if he works for the council or volunteers in the local nature reserve He said “Neither, I have been out of work for 6 months. I just want to feel useful, so I get up and do this”

Eleven years ago today my daughters were born 9 weeks premature weighing 2lbs 13oz & 3lb 8oz Thanks to our brilliant NHS doctors & nurses they thrived “In 2008 only 2 out of 10 babies born alive at 23 weeks went on to survive Today it is four out of ten”
