When you watch a tutorial on YouTube, not only should you do it along with the video but make sure you don't forget it!
You may use it in the future ๐ค
Locked in for four hours finding clips and images for the video I'm working on and I still got a way to go
This is why finding assets will always be my least favorite part
Are you in a creative block or interested in a style you haven't seen before?
Hopefully this is a useful thread for you as I'm going to share some of my influences and inspirations for video editing๐งต
Random thought: I'm always surprised that more editors don't @ or call out clients who scam or disrespect them
We should be supporting each other as a community and sharing names of people to avoid (imo)
Thank you all for 500 followers
Making the choice to edit full time since I graduated is quite scary but the support and encouragement on this app makes it worth it
Before and After in the sports niche for DFlowHoops ๐
Some stuff I did:
- Cut emptiness and pauses in VO to help the pacing (kept the before the same so you can see the difference in time)
- Added motion graphics and clips more relevant to the VO + SFX
Seeing my name in the credits of small films has always been special, but getting credit on a YouTube video I worked on is one of the highlights of my freelancing journey
Do you think creators should credit their team on screen?
Don't like making posts like this but I'm genuinely curious
Do editors with a huge following that never post their work and only post engagement bait get inbound leads from that?
Before and after for a potential client, they wanted something very simple
- Added a short intro as a hook
- Added B-roll where I thought was necessary
- Added subtle zooms
Updates on my outreaching journey:
- Thought w my new work I'd have better luck trying stuff on ytjobs & discord. I was wrong ๐
- Made a spreadsheet of YTers I want to work with using playboard
New clients atm: 0
What would you suggest I do differently?
Might as well add to the hundreds of other editors posting these ๐
I appreciate everyone I've met on this journey whether they're on this circle or not
After this video I've decided it would be better for the sake of my computer to actually do stuff in Premiere rather almost everything in AE ๐
