It is more important than ever to hold Turkey accountable for the
#ArmenianGenocide
. Last year during the pandemic and US elections, Turkey helped Azerbaijan drive Armenians from their homes as the Ottoman Empire did to Armenians during a world war.
Danish missionary Maria Jacobsen, known as “Mama”, traveled from Denmark to the Ottoman Empire to help save thousands of wounded and ill orphans at a hospital and later on founded the famous Bird’s Nest Orphanage in Beirut, Lebanon.

It is important more than ever today as Armenians are threatened by the same force that committed the genocide in 1915.

. The effort is in honor of the Near East Relief, the humanitarian operation by the United States in the 1920s to help
#ArmenianGenocide
survivors.
So far governments and parliaments of 32 countries have recognized the
#ArmenianGenocide
. In 2019, the United States became one of the latest to do so. Although recognition has grown in recent years, Turkey and Israel still refuse to recognize the genocide.
Azerbaijan proclaims itself as a “model of multiculturalism and tolerance,” yet just 31 years ago they had ethnically cleansed 500,000 Armenians.
Today, Azerbaijan’s impunity for its crimes allows it to pursue ethnic cleansing of Armenians, this time in Artsakh.
