Today marks one year of me being a journalist with KMTV, it’s been an amazing experience so far and I’ve joined the best team going!
Here are some highlights from the past year
@KMTV_Kent
Here's some nice HD footage I got of them filming
#doctorwho
earlier. Looks to be the last scene of the episode where John Bishop (Dan) joins the Tardis team
(I have tried my best to edit the audio, not used to editing audio on a video edit softaware)
Some very exciting news:
I’m the first multimedia Local Democracy Reporter
I’ve been keeping this under wraps for some time!
My patch has also been extended to cover the whole of the South East region.
Here’s a clip of my first report for the service 👇👇
The
#LDReporter
scheme has today launched a multi-media trial to deliver video/audio reports to news partners in the South East. First up, a report on cuts to free home-to-school transport for over 16s with special educational needs in Kent. Report by

People think it’s biased but the bbc is presenting a view that you don’t agree with! The bbc gets complaints on being biased equally from both left and right sides. To me the BBC therefore has the balance correct:)
So my theory on how Donna will be in this episode is that she’ll be more of a cameo. Perhaps related to John I don’t think she’ll play a big part in the episode and I think the narrative will be kept she doesn’t know who the doctor is

Have a lovely evening, and here’s to 2024 (it’s going to be a big one)
And thank you to everyone who’s contributed to us this year
I’ve spent the last week working at Global’s Cardiff Newsroom. I’ve been working on original stories, editing audio, news gathering and getting to go out reporting (I finally got to meet Mark Drakeford)!
@MikeHughes_
and his team were so welcoming and helpful, thank you!

Just been live on

about
#Liverpooltesting
I am overall positive it will work, but it will only succeed if everyone plays there part and gets tested! Being a radio person having a camera in front of me was also a first 😂
I’ve now been working with
@KMTV_Kent
for a quater of a year, it’s been the best 3 months, and a lot of hard work too.
I also coincidentally presented my first hour long Kent Tonight this evening too! Here is to the next 3, 6, 12…. months
It’s been quite the day, it all started when David Cameron walked back into government this morning.
I’ve been reporting from Downing Street this evening, you can find more on today’s reshuffle on our website
Very excited to announce I have accepted an offer to study at Cardiff University / Prifysgol Caerdydd on their highly competitive MA Broadcast Journalism Course.
Extremely exited to get started this September.
Great first day back on the Broadcast Journalism course at Cardiff University / Prifysgol Caerdydd today. We were thrown straight into the deepend. In the morning live two ways on the current party allegations. Then in the afternoon a five minute radio bulletin.
@BroadcastCJS
Is there a future for farming in Kent? My special report for
@KMTV_kent
airs at 5:45 today.
I've spent much of December working on this project. I've spoken to, one of the oldest and youngest fruit growers in the county. Plus a company hoping to change the way we source food.
Tonight on KMTV I speak Tonbridge MP Tom Tugendhat on what can be done to help businesses with energy costs.
@fugglesbeercafe
say if energy bills continue to increase at the current rate they are, they might have to close their doors for good.
Watch on
@kmtv_kent
from 5:30 PM
Had a few messages if they are still there, I don’t know tbh I am home now. Pls don’t travel to watch with Covid, but if you’re near there’s plenty of room to social distance, like I did hence the different angles to everyone else. This photo shows a jib. Yet to be used....
Equality and inclusion being celebrated at Medway Pride, this was also the first parade on the streets of Rochester. I payed a visit on Saturday, watch my report on

A petition to get Eurostar trains stopping in Kent once more has now reached 15,000 signatures.
The international service suspended its routes from the county in 2020. The earliest they could be back is 2025.
I've been finding out more
A year ago today I was on

about the LPL mass testing trial, this was a big influence to apply for the MA Broadcast Journalism course

@BroadcastCJS
I got the place, and here I am today reading the news myself So watch out Martine…..
The queen visited Rochester Cathedral in 1961 for Maundy Thursday, here she gave silver coins (Maundy money) to 35 elderly men and women. Coincidentally the first silver coins were given here by King John in 1213. An absolute privilege to tell this story today.
Kent really celebrated today! Thousands of people came together at hundreds of Street Party’s across the county.
@KMTV_Kent
was at just a few put we will bring you a roundup on Tuesday. One of the parties we were at was The Bayle in Folkestone.
I spent last night queuing to get into the Queen Lying in State. Was it worth it? Absolutely, so glad I queued 8 hours to pay my final respects to the late Queen Elizabeth I I.
Here’s the article we put together for
@Kent_Online
If Ebbsfleet Intl. was operational for international travel, I’m sure Eurostar would be using that as the London Terminus today.
A petition to return services back to Kent has now passed 40k signatures
Eurostar has now cancelled a total of 29 trains to and from London because flooding in a tunnel is “not improving”, the operator said. Have you been affected?

My placement with STV News has sadly come to an end. I’ve had the most amazing time and I’ve learnt so much from their experienced team. Thank you so much for having me! They kept me busy up whilst in Glasgow, so I’ve put some highlights below 👇
It’s not what you expect to see flying over a school playground.
But a former buffet car, donated to a Maidstone special needs school is set to become a community cafe
It’ll give students the skills to keep them on track when they leave the school
@DoctorWhoPN
more lorries here now, overheard the conversation that they are setting up side lights for a night shoot. Including wide shots so having to hide lights or something
Thank you for all the kind comments on my latest special report on future of farming in Kent,
The counties traditional industry under threat, and there’s so much passion in that sector from all involved. If you haven’t watched it yet, here’s the link
🚨🚨KENT CONCRETE SCHOOL LATEST:
Kent County Council has tonight confirmed that two schools will be closing tomorrow due to RAAC issues
- Palmarsh Primary in Hythe will be completely closed
- St James Church of England, Tunbridge Wells will see some some students off.
Covering bereavements is never easy, covering the funeral of seven year old Will Brown Jr was an emotionally tough one
Every seat in the church was taken, and the community gathered around outside to support each other
EXCLUSIVE: The Medway Council leader has today told Roger Gough (KCC Leader) his concerns about a directly elected mayor for the county. It comes as Kent County Council's Cabinet will tomorrow decide whether to press for a devolution deal for Kent and Medway.

We use ‘breaking news’ too freely so much that when there is a breaking news story it doesn’t have the impact it should. I think a word like ‘happening now’ would be far more appropriate.
Been a pleasure filming with
@tremorfapantry
for
@BroadcastCJS
this lunch time
They’re going for the

for the most prizes in a tombola (the goals more than 5000)
Tomorrow’s the last day to donate prizes ahead of the Tombola this Saturday (10-4)
Back in Liverpool today. Family Funeral, but lovely to see everyone nonetheless. Just happened to be the same graveyard which influenced a certain Beatles song.
