Grimsby Pelham’s first game was against Brigg Britannia, in Brigg, on 08/11/1878 Brigg won 2-0 Both teams had 12 players, as was common before rules were codified. Pelham turned up with 11 so, 54 year old lawyer George Haddelsey made up the numbers! @larkholmelad #GTFC
