As many in our community may need to self-isolate, GRU is offering relief to customers during the COVID-19 crisis by suspending service disconnections for nonpayment, effective March 16. We will continue to monitor COVID-19 and reevaluate on April 2.

We are now at 20k customers still out. We've got two main transmission lines back up and crews are continuing to repair and restore power throughout the city. We're working as swiftly as we can and appreciate everyone's patience!

We are expecting the strongest tropical storm conditions between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. with wind gusts of up to 40-60 mph. Rainfall is estimated to be around 2 inches. The center of TS Nicole is approaching Orlando at the moment.

. GRU will not charge late fees and will suspend disconnections for non-payment through Sept. 10 or until full restoration.
GRU is prepared for widespread outages, and you should be too. Cannot speculate on restoration times until we're through the worst of it, unfortunately, but we restored nearly 53,000 customers in the 48 hours following Irma.👷

All customers have been restored at this time. The cause of the outage was due to a private construction company digging into an underground cable at NW 39th Ave and 43rd St. Thank you all for your patience!
