@KwasiKwarteng You clearly weren't listening, Kwasi. We want no NEW oil and gas. There are over 200 oil & gas fields producing in the North Sea. We don’t need more. The @IEA have said repeatedly that we cannot exploit new oil & gas anywhere if we want to avoid catastrophic climate change.

@KwasiKwarteng @IEA The people of the UK want a reliable, affordable energy supply that doesn't risk their future. Approving new gas fields makes us more vulnerable to rising gas prices and more dependent on private companies like Shell, who are under no obligation to sell us gas cheaply or at all.

That means committing to public ownership, wealth taxes for the 1%, permanent and progressive windfall taxes for polluters, green jobs for all and a National Nature Service. And we need at least 28 billion per year in the first year of a new Parliament, not a scaled back plan.

@The_TUC released this report last year which says that £85bn could create 1.2 million good green jobs immediately. Keir is asking young people to trust him, but we’ve been lied to over and over by politicians. We’re going to need more than empty words.

You clearly weren't listening, Kwasi. We want no NEW oil and gas. There are over 200 oil & gas fields producing in the North Sea. We don’t need more. The @IEA have said repeatedly that we cannot exploit new oil & gas anywhere if we want to avoid catastrophic climate change.
