The season is officially over. Always bitter-sweet in the fact that more games are wanted, but it's a chance to look back and reflect (individually and as a team). The coaches couldn't be prouder with the effort given this season. 8th grade finishes 10-2, 7th grade at 8-3-1.

The guys picked up two wins last night vs Kossuth. 8th grade won 5-3: multiple his from @RobertsBaylor , winning pitcher @jordan_evers , and great defense. 7th grade was in a close one then decided to hit... And not stop hitting... Winning 17-0, winning pitcher Glidewell. 🐅 ⚾

. @SHSBaseballClub allowed us to take over the field for day baseball... Luckily it wasn't a wasted day as our "A" squad squeaked out a walkoff win vs Tupelo. Harwood pitched well and added a H, Bingham picks up the W in relief, and Monaghan gets the walkoff single.

8th grade wins 14-0 over itawamba. Not sure what was more impressive: offensive explosion or defensive showing. Nice win, boys. 7th grade wins 10-9 over itawamba. Competitive game in which the guys had to battle back then hold off a comeback bid. Stats 2mrw, tourney Saturday.

We had a little fun today and had a "team Roberts" vs "team Adams" draft. We allowed the guys to make the lineups and conduct coaching decisions (within reason and with pitch counts). With a tie in the first game, it all came down to the second game with team Adams winning 14-3!

The spotlight now shines on J.T. Beasley. @JT74154833 is a utility guy for the Tigers. He is a multi sport athlete at GMS and loves to compete. He's easy to find on campus, standing 7' 2" and weighing 97 lbs. Also, claims to have the best legs on campus. #dirtbags #tigers #smiley

We've already been working/learning, but we get a little extra time starting tomorrow! First after-school practice. Ride needs to be at GMS gym at 415pm. First game is in one month and will be here in no time! We just need this wet stuff to go away! 🐅 ⚾

8th grade wins their (shortened) game and 7th drops a close one tonight. We'll see corinth in the Iuka tourney in a few wks, and if it's like the first two games it will be a great one. 7th fought back from a big deficit but couldn't close the deal. Stats from our busy wk 2mrw.

Lost to a pretty solid Oxford squad tonight. Hit the ball better tonight, though not much fell for us. Defense looked great at times. Only gave up 4 hits... "Shot ourselves in the foot" too much, for sure. Excited about the future ahead for these young fellas. 🐅 ⚾

🚨TRYOUT INFO🚨 Any 6th or 7th grade student wanting to tryout for the Guntown Tiger Baseball squad for next year needs to come by Coach Fleming or Coach Black’s room and fill out a tryout form. Tryouts will be next Monday and Tuesday (25/26) during school. Read next tweet.

Erbody's available for baseball! Had some indoor and outdoor activity going on today. Was fun getting back into full blown practice mode with everyone. After-school practice begins in a couple weeks (Mon/Thurs). First game is in a little over a month 👀

Shout-out to the players, past and present, contacting me about workouts during this time. That's big-time stuff. You either want to get better/bigger/stronger/faster or you don't, no matter the circumstances! Some talk like they want it, but they don't want to WORK for it.

When the field is under water and the gym is occupied, you make things happen any way you can. Our #BiggerStrongerFaster day turned into us pushing ourselves through a #Rushfit core workout. 5 rounds at 5 minutes a piece. Guys did great and pushed each other. #FunctionalMuscle

We were notified THIS MORNING of another rule change regarding bats: Mississippi is going back to using ONLY -3 bats in both high school AND middle school. While you're here, final cuts for our squad are tentatively scheduled for October 16-18th. #Tigers #dirtbags ⚾ 🐅
