Since 1945, Republican administrations increased the national debt more and ran higher deficits than Democratic administrations. By a lot. Republican fixation on the national debt is pure hypocrisy.
@ResisterSis20
You can thank the blatantly biased and political Supreme Court for much of this. Trump should be have been tried and convicted in the DC case by now but for their inexcusable delay of that case by the taking then slow walking the immunity appeal.
@ReallyAmerican1
No, there is no court order prohibiting such statements. The remedy is for these continuing false statement to be introduced in evidence in this trial in support of a claim for bigly punitive damages.
@tribelaw
Mission accomplished: she delayed beyond the election a relatively simple, open and shut case that should have been tried months ago. The dismissal will be reversed and she removed from the case, but if Trump wins none of it will matter.
@mmpadellan
It’s not just Katie Britt. That response was cleared at the highest levels of the GOP. They are all despicable for lying about the tragic sexual abuse of a child to make a political point.
@thejackhopkins
1. Join voter registration efforts
2. Join letter-writing programs to swing state voters.
3. Phone banks.
4. Door knocking
5. Contribute what you can to support Dem campaigns
6. Make sure Dem friends, family and neighbors get out and vote.
7. VOTE BLUE
@AshaRangappa_
If Dems win the WH, Senate and House, we can get rid of the filibuster, expand the court to 13 to restore the balance between the number of circuits and justices, enact enforceable SCOTUS ethics laws, add term limits. & reverse recent decisions of this Court.
@WalshFreedom
@ItWasACoup
Time for rational Republicans to join with Democrats on a discharge petition. Neither aid to Ukraine nor the border can wait until 2025.
@AmyMcGrathKY
@RepJamesComer
The FBI Counterintelligence Unit has a lot of work to do investigating a number of Republican congress folks. There may be very real security threats posed by them.
@JoyceWhiteVance
His bail should be immediately revoked and he should be remanded to prison to await trial. This conduct is not only illegal but outrageous.
@CheriJacobus
Biden should begin each answer with “Everything he just said is a lie, and I am not going to waste my time refuting each lie. I am going to answer the question posed, which he did not do.” Then answer.
@tribelaw
The Supreme Court decision on immunity is irrelevant to the NYS trial, which deals with Trump’s conduct before he became president. That case should move forward to completion.
@mkraju
If a bill focused on aid to Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan is put up for a vote by Speaker Johnson, it will likely pass, which is why he will not do this. Dems should start the process for a discharge petition to get a vote on this bill.
@Gerashchenko_en
Ukraine is the Sudetenland of WWIII. Let’s learn a lesson from history. Defeating Putin in Ukraine will greatly decrease the risk of WWIII. The West, especially the US, must fully support Ukraine giving it the means to push Russia out of Ukraine. NOW.
@mkraju
Once the Ukraine etc funding bill is passed by the Senate and sent to the House, time for Dems and Rs who support the bill to start a discharge petition to force a vote on the bill in the House.
@ruthbenghiat
Trump’s bail should be revoked in his 4 criminal cases and he should be remanded to prison to await his trials. No other criminal defendant who just did what Trump did would be walking around free.
@tribelaw
How about “We leave for another day the question of whether there are any circumstances a President could have immunity from criminal prosecution because the former president is not immune from prosecution for the charges in the indictment at issue in this case.
@NOELreports
Thank you for your courage and being willing to make the ultimate sacrifice for your fellow soldiers and Ukraine. Rest in peace, hero 💙💛🇺🇦
@JayinKyiv
I share your frustration, too. But further US aid is being held up by one man, Trump, who directed his lackey, Speaker Johnson, not to bring Ukraine aid bill up for a vote. When the bills gets to the floor of the House, it will pass with strong bipartisan support.
@mkraju
@jstubbs1952
Okay. Let’s get ready for a discharge petition to force a vote on the aid to Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan bill. It will take some time, but Johnson can’t stop it if Rs supporting the bill join in.
@randymot4
Pathetic. Republicans are spineless cowards who live in terror of Trump. E Jean Carroll has more guts and courage than all of them combined.
Wake up and do your duty to our country! Pass the border compromise and aid to Ukraine.
@stucam7771
America has somehow lost the hypocrisy gene. Many are passionate about saving the life of the unborn but will let the born starve and ignore the deaths of tens of thousands each year from gun violence. Its morality is often for show. It is blind to these contradictions.
@thejackhopkins
When are our state and federal legal systems going to stop bending over backwards to help Trump and start treating him like any other person indicted for multiple felonies?
The reduction of his bond by NY appellate court is the latest. No basis for the court’s ruling.
@PrezLives2022
Trump was not president yet when the acts he is being charged with occurred. Moreover, there is no way altering his personal business records to hide paying off a porn star to keep an affair secret constitutes an official Presidential act.
@Gerashchenko_en
Thank you, Vladyslav, for you bravery, courage and willingness to lay down your life for your country. Deepest condolences to you wife and daughter. Rest in peace hero.
I wish Republicans legislators in our country had 1% of your courage and love of country.
@jurgen_nauditt
Then give Ukraine the long range, high precision weapons it needs to strike those tactical targets, such as the Kerch bridge, the bridges and rail lines in Southern Ukraine and the air bases from which bombers attack Ukraine.
@AWeissmann_
When Dems take the WH, House and Senate in November, the filibuster rule should be repealed in the Senate and the Court expanded by 4 justices. I doubt our democracy can survive with the current Court.
@thejackhopkins
How many voters know they will be living in a dictatorship if Trump wins? Many are focused on their grocery bills, rent increases and the like. How do we break through to them?
@jurgen_nauditt
I hope, but doubt, Speaker Johnson will put the Senate bill on the floor for a vote. If he doesn’t, Dems and R’s in the house who support it need to be ready to pursue a discharge petition to force a vote on the bill.
@LorraineEvanoff
Why does the Speaker have to swear on a member? The oath of office can normally be sworn to before anyone legally empowered to administer oaths (e.g. a notary public)
@VivaDido
@RpsAgainstTrump
He ought to, but he won’t. Rs who support aid to Ukraine need to work with Dems on a discharge petition to put the Security on the floor for a vote.
@harrylitman
I think folks are underestimating Justice Merchan. The judge knows that financial penalties will not deter Trump. I think Justice Merchan finds Trump in contempt for multiple violations of his order and tells him the next violation will result in jail.
@PhillipsPOBrien
There is no excuse for this. Putin’s saber rattling is all bluff. Can’t believe we are basing policy decisions on that bluster. If Ukraine had lots of 300 km ATCAMS, hundreds of F-16s and Abrams tanks, the war would be nearing an end. Europe and the West would be more secure.
@mindys4Biden
Let’s see, if $81 million in punitive damages was not enough to deter “billionaire” Trump, how high will the next jury have to go to stop Trump from continuing to defame E Jean Carroll?
@PrezLives2022
@MudiagaO
She’ll back down now because she realizes she will be removed if she persists with these obviously wrong positions. Then she will no longer be able to help Trump.
@randymot4
@ChrisO_wiki
Randy, Trump is the reason for the impasse in Congress. If he told Johnson to pass the supplemental security bill, it would on the House floor for a vote and would pass with solid bipartisan support.
@smc429
I think once Trump’s trial is over, there may be a host of aiding and abetting indictments against prominent people, including members of Congress.
@anneapplebaum
This case will be a turning point for the Court. We all know what happened on J6. The CO court after a trial found Trump engaged in insurrection. If the Ct turns its back on the language of the 14 A, it will have NO credibility. It will not be a court of 9 much longer.
@EarlOfEnough
You are right. Bottom line: we need to vote for Biden and other Dems in such overwhelming numbers that the outcome is not at all close. If we all show up, we can do that.
@Mari2025z
@icedcoffees
@EdKrassen
Spoken like a true cultist. Trump was right: he could shoot someone on 5th Avenue in broad daylight and not lose your vote or the votes of any of his cult followers.
@CraigRozniecki
@NancyTroughton
The same is true for the National Debt. Republican administrations have increased it more than Democratic administrations - by a lot!
@harrylitman
It’s about time the 14A is being used against an insurrectionist member of Congress. Hopefully, this is just the beginning of what should a long list of such cases.
@stillgray
@ukraine_map
International law says otherwise. Russia’s armed, illegal take over of Crimea is not recognized by the UN or virtually any country other than Russia, Cuba, Venezuela, North Korea and maybe a few others of that ilk. Crimea is Ukraine 🇺🇦
@Zagonel85
@Tendar
Keep in mind the AFU is only armed with some Western equipment and not the best by a long shot. If Ukraine had an adequate number of high precision long range weapons and western air power, this war would have ended by now.
@RareImagery
@krassenstein
Trump thinks he ran against Obama in 2016 and that Nikki Haley was speaker of the house, he doesn’t know what city he is in at his rallies and lives in a fantasy world devoid of facts. I hope you’re not voting for him.
@girlsreallyrule
He has to pay her anyway. Can’t discharge intentional torts, such as fraud and malicious defamation in bankruptcy. While he appeals, he has to pay the money into the court or post a bond for the full amount.
@PStyle0ne1
Russia was in a demographic death spiral before its illegal invasion of Ukraine, which is now accelerating this trend: ~800,000 young, well-educated Russians have fled and over 300,000 and counting are casualties. All of these in prime years for procreation.
@randymot4
Guess you don’t believe in the Rule of Law. Trump was proven beyond a reasonable doubt to have committed multiple felonies. No one is or should be above the law.
@GreggJarrett
The Supreme Court has no jurisdiction to halt a sentencing hearing on a state court conviction for violation of state law. Trump will have to exhaust his state court remedies before petitioning the Supreme Court for review.
@DefiyantlyFree
Nope!
Plus, Trump did far more than “question” the outcome of the 2020 election. After he lost ~60 lawsuits, he plotted a violent coup resulting in the J6 attack and the deaths of police. A court of law found Trump to be an insurrectionist.
@chima75555
@sentdefender
At a time like this I strongly prefer a leader who is cold and calculating to one that has the emotional maturity of a 10 year old.
@Marilyn00645678
@ReallyAmerican1
Yes it was, but then Trump continued to make the same false statements, which gave rise to new claims. Obviously, $5M was not enough to deter Trump. Maybe $500M will get his attention. Up to the new jury to decide.
@lorimcgourty
@ReallyAmerican1
Yes, I do believe he comprehends this and the consequences. He is doing it because his MAGA base loves it. He will raise $$$ in contributions off of this. That is why I hope the jury slams this callous man with hundreds of millions in punitive damages.
@Icarium29
@Tendar
They have defeated Russia’s attempt to take over Ukraine and have preserved their independence. Ukraine will never let itself be ruled by Russia again.
@HeReigneth
@Jul1anUHD
@sentdefender
They were Wagner troops, all Russians. Russia’s army in Ukraine would be quickly decimated by NATO forces. No more Kerch bridge, no more souther Ukraine supply routes. Ukraine’s 1991 borders fully restored.
@Gerashchenko_en
Sounds like time for a revolution. These poor people have nothing to lose and much to gain by throwing off Russian imperial colonialism.
