Tonight's activity was the Night Line. Blindfolded in the woods with only a rope to follow and our teammates go help us. Great for improving our communication, listening and resilience. Lots of proud P7s afterwards!
Our ‘Disco Frogs’ absolutely loved performing in their Glee competition this week. We had a blast and loved watching all the other amazing schools. Thank you to the
@FrissonScot
for a fabulous event!
Good morning again from Lagganlia. Heavy snow here this morning and P7 are up and at it for a day of snow okay, bushcraft and wee bit of skiing for some.
A long - but brilliant - day at Lagganlia... Tired kids and tired staff!
This morning was two canoe groups and one group dry slope skiing. This afternoon was gorge walking, cross country skiing and a tree climb. 1/6
Just thawing out my fingers for an update... The sun came out as we finished. We enjoyed spotting ducks and cormorants. Two groups on the Loch this morning and one on the ski slope (pics later!)
Now all trying to get warm and tucking into our sandwiches.
What a week! Well done, P7. I hope you're all enjoying relaxing afternoons in the warm but that you'll be keen to get outdoors again very soon.
You all did yourselves so proud at
#Lagganlia
and there are countless wonderful stories to tell and achievements to celebrate.
Our P7’s were inspired, after leading our P1 open day, to share with everyone how we reflect on our play in second level. Look out for more weekly reflections soon!

Day 1 at Lagganlia is done. The day concluded with half the group engaging in the 'night line' challenge, while the other half enjoyed a night walk. Exhausted but excited children eagerly headed to bed, ready for day 2 tomorrow!
A massive thank you to
@standrewstimber
who kindly donated some materials to help us build a new, stronger chicken coop, as well as some soil for our farm to fork project.
We finished our last full day at camp with the 2nd annual ‘Frogston’s Lagganlia Award Show’. We have had an amazing week and they cannot wait to tell you all about it!
And now the sun has set, our tummies are full of mince pie and aac and cheese and we're ready for an evening activity of Mumbo Jumbo... And, no, I have no idea what that is!!
P7 have had a full day of fun on the snow. A slightly gentler pace today but still loads of cooperation, teamwork, laughter and fun. So many new and strengthening friendships and relationships, tonnes of creativity and jokes and games aplenty.
We are delighted to share that Frogston are part of an exciting UK wide e-Twinning project this year focussed on sharing and enhancing language learning for all pupils. It will start after the October break. Thank you to
@OpenUniversity
and
@scottishcilt
for working with us!
Representatives from The Japanese Consulate came to visit P2/3 and P3 today as part of their topic on Japan. The children LOVED finding out about Japanese life and culture and meeting the guys! Arigatō

We have been working so hard at Frogston to recycle and compost all our waste! Every week, a team of amazing volunteers help me collect it all up and take it out. Look how much we saved from landfill this week alone!

The Lagganlia staff were very amused by this sight... Today was a day for extra coffee! But, the kids have been, and continue to be, a complete pleasure. One full day left and some big adventures lie ahead tomorrow!
And now, all is calm so 🤞 for a quiet night!
Will try to get some tweets from the children tomorrow but bear with us on updates. The days are full and we don't get much time for photography.
Last week we had our cluster Eid Celebration. It was lovely to see our cluster come together to eat, chat and learn about the traditions of Eid. Thank you to everyone that attended, brought a dish, sweets to share and for all the happy faces 🌙⭐️

Group 2 tackled the gorge walk this afternoon, and we were filled with pride witnessing their exceptional teamwork. Together, they supported one another through every challenge they faced 🌊
A bittersweet end of term as we bade farewell to two amazing staff and the pupils who will sadly won't be with us next year. We thank them for their wonderful contributions to our first year.
We look forward to welcoming new and continuing pupils in August. Have a great summer!
Group 2 tackled the dry ski slope this morning. For the majority of the group being totally beginners, we are so proud of the determination they all showed! 🎿⛷️
A lot of skills being used in P6 today! We used our creativity and initiative to plan our birdhouses and then collaborated to put them together. We hope the local birds enjoy their new homes🐦

We had a great time practising our ball skills in the gym today; rolling, dribbling and throwing. We've also finished our superhero stories and a target task about balancing on old-fashioned weighing scales!

A busy morning at the vet's. A parrot, a giraffe and a duck all cured. Sadly another giraffe's floppyneckitis has proved incurable.

It was a great way to appreciate the beautiful environment we have to enjoy this evening. The snow was thick and heavy this morning but as you can see this afternoon was clear, bright and beautiful.
Primary 6 are over the moon to have had a response to their letters asking for help in building a safer chicken coop! Huge thanks to
@MGMTimber
for their kind donation of outdoor materials 🐓
Primary 6 used their ‘sense-making’ skills to create model lungs as part of their science topic. As you pull down on the diaphragm, air is pulled into the lung and it inflates 🫁

We had a great meeting today to discuss our Eid celebration plans! Thank you to the amazing parents and staff from

. We are looking forward to welcoming everyone on the 27th of April at Frogston ⭐️🌙
Our cluster Eid celebration is happening today from 4.30pm till 6.30pm at Frogston. We are looking forward to welcoming everyone at our school!

Everybody doing really with eating and dinners too. Chicken curry or tomato pasta went down well followed by a generous helping of apple crumble.
We finished with a night walk, enjoying the quiet off the woods in the snow and experiencing the darkness with torches off! 5/6
Congratulations to our Frogston Netball Team who competed in their first ever tournament this week. They came 3rd overall in their group 🌟. We are so proud of each and every one of them 👏🏻.
The last couple of groups were adventuring in the forest and trying a bit of bushcraft... Bonfires and marshmallows were a great way for them to finish their day!
Thank you
@GreenTeamEdin
for our first session exploring our wetland area. The class absolutely loved creating dens for toys. We can’t wait to build more!
Thanks to everyone on here for your interactions too... The children enjoyed knowing that their families were liking and replying to Tweets!
I'm signing off now, enjoying cuddles with 👶🏼 and 🐶 and settling in for a quiet night in. Have a great weekend whatever you're doing! SP
We are so excited to announce the arrival of our first project, our four lovely hens! Our plan is to collect their eggs 🥚
Stay tuned for more information on how families can visit the hens on weekends.
All Frogston pupils loved their class visits from our community police; Michelle, Sarah, Andy and Mark. They listened respectfully + asked some brilliant questions. Who can remember what police said was their most important bit of kit? Thanks again

Not everyone wrote a tweet. A few were collaborations. Loads they have all enjoyed! 🤩
As for Mumbo Jumbo, it was songwriting, houses of cards, writing with feet, origami, knot tying, junk modelling, anagram solving, Mexican waves and lots of other silly fun!
More tomorrow! 🏔️
P.S. Excuse the lack of pictures! Technology has been struggling in the conditions and we have also wanted to prioritise being present with the children rather than photographing them, especially as tiredness has kicked in. 🥶📱🥶📷🥶 12/12
P2a made full use of the beautiful weather this week to learn outside. We partitioned using sticks in maths, we looked at the world with an 'insect-eye-view' to inspire use of adjectives. We used our senses to explore!
