I am hearing the GOP COVID bill expands the protectionist Berry amendment and forbids the purchase of medical goods from our allies to fill our stockpiles. "Because China" even though most of our med goods imports come from Canada/Mexico/EU. If true, a waste of taxpayer dollars.

Yesterday I heard some union lobbyist claim NAFTA wiped out US auto manufacturing. In Jan 1990, there were 975,500 US auto manufacturing jobs, according to @USDOL stats. In September 2019, there were..wait for it... 988,600 U.S. auto manufacturing jobs. But wait there's more!
