I still can't imagine the logic of the people making decisions like, "Yeah, let's charge $50 - basically the price of any next gen console game - for 1/3 (if you're lucky) of one deck in Magic!"
I have played Magic since around 1994. In that time I have seen every form of “the sky falling” and every fear that the game was dying.
While I’m sure Wizards is getting tons of new players, I have NEVER seen this many people irritated with the state of the game and quitting.
Things that could have fixed Nadu:
- Only triggers once per turn.
- Lands enter tapped.
- 3/3 instead of 3/4.
- Ability cap is for Nadu itself and not per creature.
- Only triggers from spells OR abilities, not both.
- Only triggers from opponents' spells and abilities.
1) Calling Magic a “children’s” card game is condescending and reductive; I literally know zero children who play the game and it was never marketing toward children. 2) Something doesn’t specifically have to be a “financial decision” to be upset about losing money on it.

Dude, you pay $8 a month for Twitter with barely 100 followers, and have an AI profile pic with literal icons in it that you were too lazy to crop out. 😂
This take is utterly insane to me. PLAYING TOURNAMENT MAGIC IS NOT A RIGHT. If you want to play tournament Magic, which is an expensive hobby, owning the cards is the price of doing so. You need to seriously check your entitlement if you think like this.
@vote_checkbox
i want to play tournament mtg without needing to pay 500usd for a deck, and among those that want to prevent that are business-owning LGSs who sell their shoeldreds for 80usd
@MJTruthUltra
LOL, Putin is literally one of the best propagandists in modern time, and this post is, what, just suggesting we just believe him and his good intentions? 😂
Cool. Seller Robs Grand Emproium on
@TCGplayer
cancelled my order of two Atraxa that I placed on Saturday, at $9 each (which was the going rate), because "they were priced incorrectly." Meanwhile, they're now going for $15 each. 😂
@LordMassapo
Some of these takes are hilarious. "If he can't cheat on MTGO, he's clearly fine to play there!" LOL, like bans from Magic only apply to cheatable platforms. 😂
You're banned for being an unsportsmanlike piece of shit. Your punishment is NOT BEING ABLE TO PLAY THE GAME.

Thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. May you come to terms with your blatant homophobia that you confuse with "being just tolerant enough."
@mtgaaron
I think for me, live coverage was a huge draw. Being able to tune into an SCG or a GP every weekend and see new and exciting decks, or tweaks to existing decks, that you could then play the next week was invigorating for a Constructed format.
Welp,
@MTG_Arena
strikes again. If you guys are going to build decks, make sure you DON'T click "Standard" in Advanced Filters. It won't show you legal cards you have that AREN'T from Standard sets and you'll end up wasting mythic wild cards. Absolutely fucking infuriating.
"The reason we don't put Arena promo codes in physical packs is because there are so many more paper players, and they may not be useful to all paper players."
...unlike ad cards, I guess? LOL. None of these arguments stand up to even the slightest scrutiny.
Like, I'm shocked they put this entire one hour presentation together, and I feel both utterly insulted as a player and consumer, and as if not one single actual issue has been improved upon. I'm shocked.
JONES: Over 20 people shot last week
BUTTIGIEG: Then why would we elect leaders who won't do anything about gun violence?
J: Name one R in charge in Chicago
B: Want to play that game? We could talk about the murder rate in Mississippi being double what it is in Illinois
Do I not know what "financial struggles" means? Like, is it actually not possible for a company to simply "exist," making enough profit to grow slightly, while paying your employees a decent wage? Like, if you don't make money hand over fist, is it a "financial struggle"?
The Top 4 of this Mythic Championship contains the following:
16 Oko, Thief of Crowns
16 Gilded Goose
16 Paradise Druid
16 Hydroid Krasis
16 Once Upon a Time
15 Wicked Wolf
15 Nissa, Who Shakes the World
😂😂😂
The reasons
@CKiritz
gives for not being able to "shift" or "trade up" wildcards from lower to higher rarities is because it "feels bad when a player can't build a deck because they don't have enough common/uncommons wildcards." Have these people ever PLAYED Magic?
remember when Magic the Gathering gave us cards to reveal & told us they were gonna be really awesome? and then it ended up just being 5 basic lands??? apparently they feel bad & are going to let us redeem ourselves. holy shit i’m so excited to do a REAL card reveal this time!!!
I don't have a problem with the "requesting that people ask" part. It's mostly just odd how unhinged the first part comes across as. You're playing a game, with other people. Someone you're engaged in a game with picking up a card to read it seems pretty harmless.
Really love how there’s no rhyme or reason to how Magic variants are decided. I would love to have an extended art Sword of Forge and Frontier, but that doesn’t exist…but there IS an extended art for Once and Future. Why? Who knows!

This was definitely meant to be a joke, and as a non-Commander player, I was suggesting its use in non-Commander formats (where Uprising sees zero play and has never seen play), so I'm sorry for not making this more sarcastic. I have failed you. 😭
Who has a cheap, competitive FAB deck or two I could check out? Have never played a game, but interested in learning the rules and having a deck to look at as I go seems helpful.
@fabtcg
Not trying to be a Karen about this, but is this an appropriate solution when I asked in my email to be reimbursed for the wasted Wildcards? This is basically 10 packs, when they sell 4 Rare and 4 Mythic Wildcards for $30 in the store.

Has anyone else felt a little too overwhelmed to even care about the new
#MTGAFR
previews? I haven't even processed or enjoyed Modern Horizons 2 yet! I'm still digesting those cards and decks...now there's ANOTHER new set in two weeks? Can we take a breath, please?
