The rhetoric that confronting our racist history in regard to statues & other symbols amounts to “erasure of history” - whether that be in UK, Australia or elsewhere - is simply a disingenuous argument to avoid the hard discussions that needs to be had about the legacy of empire.

Emma, saying you’re colour blind is tantamount to saying you don’t care or see the racialised experiences of others, including Black athletes still protesting today. Claiming colour blindness, is itself a racist act, which helps to sustain the system of structural oppression.

Australian refs need to learn that not every incident in a match necessitates a caution. They’ve got to learn not to become emotionally embroiled in the game themselves. The best referees stay above the fray, when players become emotional in the course of a game. 1/2 #MVCvADL
