When interrogated by police for silently praying in the censorship zone, they challenged me for wearing a cassock. When do I normally wear one? Don’t I realise it’ll be perceived as intimidating? These are not questions a person should be asked under caution in a democracy!

In ordinary life hope typically means desire: “I hope they have mint icecream.” In this sense, I hope Hell is empty too. Theologically, hope refers to trust in God’s promises, meaning something more like ‘expect.’ But God never promised that Hell is empty. 1/2

The cardinal doesn’t realise 99% receiving these blessings won’t have read the document, so naturally they will interpret it as a form of legitimisation. Of course the priest could always explain that he doesn’t intend to do so, but that’s so awkward! So why even do it at all?

Wrong. Individual souls are saved together as part of the Body of Christ, the Church, outside of which there can be no salvation. The Church is called to be leaven, salt and light to the world; saving souls AND the world according to Christ the universal King’s justice.

There is nothing Christian about #SocialJustice . Redemptive salvation is a matter of the individual soul.

Lord, bless all those who have suffered as a result of the wolves in sheep’s clothing who were called to be Shepards in your Church. Rid the Church of this filth, and bring to accountability all those who hold power. In Jesus name, Amen

Ecclesial power (in priests, bishops & popes) is subject to divine law. Whenever power is exercised in a penal way without due process, justice has not been done, which is a demand of divine law. Just because something can be done, it doesn’t make it right.

6 January 1945 | Among some 70 Poles, Police prisoners shot inside gas chamber & crematorium V at Auschwitz II-Birkenau was Lt. Konstanty Kempa, a soldier engaged in resistance activity near the camp. On the day of his execution, he managed to send a secret letter to his parents.

I guess this exemplifies the problem with off-the-cuff papal interviews. Language is ambiguous at the best of times, and when you’re the pope you lose the privilege of being able to be misunderstood without that having significant consequences

You’ve done this to yourselves sounds like an abuser telling their victim I’m only doing it because I love you.

I do accept your point 👇I have myself spoken about how some individuals have prayed at clinics for years with no trouble at all. But then certain anti-abortion groups weaponised prayer as a form of direct action. The buffer zones are the result. You did this to yourselves!

Imagine having so little fear of God’s judgment that you would publicly call a priest “Satanic” without any evidence whatsoever other than that he is a DJ.

Trent Horne defends Satanic Priest DJ and at same time comes after me over my opinion that the moon landing was faked by Nixon for political purposes. Should I challenge @Trent_Horn to a trial by Jiu Jitsu to settle all this one and for all?

It’s not a hot take to say every human being has equal dignity In 🇬🇧 legislators want to criminalise it on hundreds of public streets I was threatened with arrest and charged for this! #CensorshipZones #UnbornLivesMatter #FreedomOfSpeech

When people say “this isn’t free speech” they never say what free speech actually is! If protesting against an elected representative in the town square about a controversial issue isn’t free speech, then seriously, what is free speech?!?

Walthamstow many of you have been in touch already about today's demonstration in the Town Square which you say you fear forms part of a broader attempt to try to prevent progress on abortion rights here in England. If it was upto me, I would 1/2

@FrSeanDGough Fr Sean, I commend what you did. My mother had cancer when she was pregnant with me and despite enormous pressure applied to her for months by everyone, she refused to kill me before I was born. I'm really glad she didn't give into abortionists.

Increasingly seeing people writing things like… “Sweet Heart of Mary, be my salvation!” I’m 110% behind what St Maximilian Kolbe says about devotion to Our Lady, but we must trust only in the her Son’s death and resurrection for salvation. Mary herself was saved by Him.

@rightscholar @mfjlewis @austeni @ReasonTheology As a priest I bless sinful people all the time. I also accompany people in all sorts of sinful situations. It’s never been necessary to bless the sinful situation to do this, and it never will be. I can pray for or with them, help them, talk to them, tell them God loves them.

MPs are being granted a free vote today on establishing censorship zones, so extreme they even ban silent prayer on public streets in the UK. Ludicrous.

It’s astonishing that conservative MPs were granted a free vote on censorial buffer zones - a matter which clearly concerns civil liberties and public order. Free speech, thought & individual liberty are fundamental rights, not issues of conscience. MPs can put this right today.

Soon, some hot-taker’ll post a video from #WYD2023 of the Holy Communion being distributed disrespectfully (as though this is the norm). Just left mass with 10’s of 1000’s youngsters in Fatima, almost all that I saw received reverently, mostly on the tongue, probs 1/2 kneeling!

@colinelves They questioned me extensively about what the silent prayers I was saying were about, they questioned me about my clothing, neither of which can be relevant considerations for determining whether a crime has taken place in a free and democratic country, surely?
