Le voila! What do people think of my trial run Platinum Pudding? It’s quite a complicated recipe, but if you buy the Swiss roll and the amaretti biscuits ready made, it’s actually quite quick and easy. The mandarin coulis is delicious!

I couldn’t agree more. Could we stop using the world “medieval” in relation to Afghanistan to mean backward, cruel and unenlightened. The medieval period produced some of mankind’s greatest artistic triumphs and foremost intellectual achievements.

Tried to visit Peterborough Cathedral. It’s being used for a life size rubber dinosaur exhibition so this was as far as I was allowed to come without a dinosaur ticket. Dinosaur mating cries and roars were broadcast on constant loop around the cathedral to help people pray. 🤦‍♂️🤷‍♂️

Isn’t it fascinating that when this illegal rave was set up in a broken into medieval Essex church last night they instinctually put the music equipment where the high altar should be in the sanctuary. Not even stoned illegal ravers seem to want nave altars in the round anymore.

Today’s feast of St Thomas a Becket is a good opportunity to remind ourselves that the crucifix over the high altar at St Benet’s, Kentish Town, is in fact an old prop from the film “Becket” starring Richard Burton and Peter O’Toole.
