Are we discussing the longterm effects of Covid enough or are we just focused on 'no new deaths'? A friend's sister is a young marathon runner & caught it months ago. Can still barely walk up a stairs. GP is sympathetic but can't help because of lack of research. Quite terrifying

The thing that shocks me most about AIB's decision to turn 70 branches cashless is the fact they only just collaborated with Women's Aid in 2019 to highlight financial abuse here. How, in the space of 3 yrs, have they forgotten how important cash is to domestic violence victims

On train to Mayo. A group of lads got on, no mask between them & one is repeatedly coughing, & they're slagging off a lad who moved carriage to get away. Increased restrictions being forced on those who've followed all guidelines, whilst others behave like that, is tough to take.

Taxis were never meant to be the main source of night time transport. They don't have the capacity to meet that sort of demand but thanks to years of underfunding our transport system, they're the go to. Dublin is a dangerous, chaotic mess at night for people trying to get home

I've never seen such a perfect example of why diverse voices at the decision table are so necessary. No parent should ever have to ask 'who will take care of my disabled child if I pass' and be told 'sure doesn't he/she have siblings?'. So out of touch.

@ciarancannon @GardaTraffic This is a very unfortunate take. The guards mentioned clothing to emphasise how difficult the individual was to see, that they not only had no lights but they also had dark clothing on. They're purely trying to keep people safe - cyclists, drivers, and pedestrians alike.

I'm confused. Essential workers are allowed travel beyond their 5km to to work and then travel home to their family. The Taoiseach is an essential worker. And going home. This lockdown is horrific and we are all fed up but turning on each other without reason doesn't help.

Taoiseach says he will be travelling home to see his family tonight in Cork - like id love to see my own family, but they are not within the 5Km limit.

Shoutout to all the parents who spent thousands on their children's braces. Worth every penny.

If you're looking for me, I'll just be over here falling in love with Rome. The coffee, the people, the food the architecture - why did nobody tell me it's basically an open air museum? 😩❤

Every now and again people ask how dad is doing now. He's doing great, is back wood turning (an old hobby), and just gave me two reindeer decorations he made with spare timber he found. Random? Yes. Am I still going to paint them? Absolutely. Everyone: meet Betty and Buck.

What would we actually do without journalists holding people to account? Depressing to think of the lack of consequences we'll probably see here but so grateful to those shedding light on stories like this. Well done @hughescraig90 👐

Thank you to these views for pushing me to become everything I hate - I now have to glue my hands together to stop myself from quoting some sort of cheesy "nature cures all" mindfulness

NYE hotel plans cancelled thanks to a positive test result (not mine) but just so grateful they're fine and we found out in advance. Anyway, smiling because we're about to say goodbye to a year Stephen King couldn't have drawn up (and that's saying something). 🥂✌

Vaccinated on Tuesday, Digital Covid Cert in my emails at 7am this morning. Amidst all the bad news and negativity we sometimes see on Twitter, 36 hours is some insanely wonderful efficiency 👐

In a jammed store & an elderly man to my left was buying 1L of milk & a turkey & ham ready meal for one. It could be for today & he'll see family on Mon but regardless, it was a perfect show of the acute loneliness all the Christmas noise can compound for some. Check in on folk.

My entire holiday season revolves around keeping my dad off ladders and keeping my mum from finding out we've already cracked into the Christmas stash. For the record, he's up a ladder right now.
