15:18, 11/11 Is there anything prettier than a Blue Jay's wing span?! That beautiful blue color we see in the feathers is melanin which is brown! The blue color is caused by scattering lighjt through the modified cells on the surface of the feather barbs

The Cornell FeederWatch cam is now streaming with a 4K camera! In addition to providing more clarity, the new cam also has night vision. Keep an eye out for those flying squirrels at night! 🌚🐿️
12/22 This is a pic of the feeder set-up from the outside, looking towards the lab. In the window you can see chairs where folks come to watch the feeder in person (me included!)..you can also see the cam focused on the feeder platform. Neat, isn't it!!
